Lately this forum has become slower. Whenever I click a thread or whatever the loadingtime is many seconds. If it only happened at home I could always blamemy stone-age computer, but it happends at university too and the hardware there should be good enough to deal with basics such as a webpage.
Am I the only one experiencing this?
Hmmm, it has got a bit sluggish. I always blamed it on our tempramental network at college, or my pre-cambrian dial-up at home. Perhaps its because people are taking up lots of bandwidth? Or lots of users on at the same time? Or maybe i'm imagining things.
Still, its a small price to pay for such a great forum.
I access this from school and home, and it is , much, much slower at school than the other websites I go on. However at home its just as fast as any other website I visit.
Think this is good? Rep me and click the star

Is getting slower than other forums and this forum used to be.
It's got slower yes. Sometimes it takes so long I might hit the quick reply (Notice the quick word) button again and then it goes fast and gives me a double post. SOmetimes my pc frezzes ion this site and the last 3 times its frozen its been on here and my pc is good and new and shouldnt do this.
I noticed this as well, even on a friends very high end system with broadband, LO was noticeably slower than other forums.
Sig by:Knape, The Celestial, and Marlinspike, thanks guys!
Its fast at school and sluggish at home. Does the fact that the school computers are on a LAN have anything to do with it.
This is entirely normal, and it likely has to do with an increase in site traffic over specific periods of time. The servers resources are finite, and more users = more load on the server. It’s also quite likely that the same server that servers up the LO domain, servers other domains as well who also could be experiencing an influx of traffic. Apart from an infrastructure overhaul there is little that can be done about it.
If you desperately need those extra 3-4 seconds that it takes to load pages, turn off images, signatures, and all the fluffy options. Set it to 10 posts a page, and it should be fine, otherwise deal with it.
