    Maximum Rep Power amount

Currently the Reputation Power each member has is done by a formula, with three factors: Amount of Rep Received, Time since original registration, Number of posts.

IF you feel that the maximum amount of Rep power has got out of hand, and is unbalancing the Rep system, then simply choose the amount you feel it should be capped at.

This is a one choice poll, and associated with the Rep Power poll nearby.

Ryan Dancey, Vice President of Wizards of the Coast, believed that TSR failed because of "...a near total inability to listen to its customers, hear what they were saying, and make changes to make those customers happy." Are you listening, Games Workshop ?

So few comments here. So I'll start off.

I voted for 25. At least, I think I did. I might've voted 20, but I meant to vote 25. Since that's what we already cap Supervisors and Admins off at, then that makes sense to institute as a cap for everyone else.

I'd vote to leave it as it is.

Some people having very high rep power isn't really a big problem in my mind. Those people will be, by definition of having so much rep sensible members of LO. They won't abuse the power. I've never recieved more than 25 rep either, so as to 'out of hand' that I really don't understand.

By simply allowing people to reduce thier rep-cookie there would be no problem at all.

This poll is a moot point IF the ability exsists to decide how much rep you want to give. Either way, I voted for no cap.

It was getting out of hand because people were getting huge amounts of rep from people with loads of it, but not much from those without so the major source of rep is from people with lots.

I think that you should change the rep power system:

    +1 for a year
    +1 for 100 rep
    +1 for 500 posts

Which would balance the system out more.

Otherwise the maximum rep power IMO should be 15. There are not many people beyond that so making the max higher than that would leave the system still 'out of hand'.

A cap Byron ? Why ? I tattoaly disagree with that idea I insist the Rep Power amount to be customable. Depending the value of the thread/post. Customable by you, like mine Rep power is 29, and that means this is the maximun I can give to a thread/post.

Agreed. However, as Hard Aun has stated before, this might be a problem to implement.

If it is a problem to implement the 'rep control' system, then I'm in favour of a cap.

20-25 is a good number. Because it's not obscenely high enough to break the system, yet people can have can still have somewhat of an impact if they are long standing, upstanding and genuinley respected members.

Well problems in a forum/site are for Admins to solve, they are here for making our lives easy and clean not the oposite. So give it a try, I bet its not gonna be so hard. If there is a will there is a way.

There are actually quite a few highly active members *cough* that have much more than 15 rep.

Personnaly, I feel that the variable rep system should be sought after heavily, as I find quite a few good/bad posts, but not many are worth IMO the 24 rep that I have the power to give or take, an a cap doesn't fix that type of problem, unless its a really low cap, but they you can't properly rep those that do deserve teh high rep for good or bad reasons.

Well excuse me "MiketehFox" but active members does not mean alaways "quality" members. Cause Post Count dont quarantee that a member with high post count is valuable to the forum.
