    1000 pt. calvalry list

    I have a 1000 pt. league at my local store that is starting next week, so I thought that I would like to share what I came up with with you guys.

    Hero's:


    Gen. - Saurus scar-vet. - 159 pt.
    Halberd, light Armor, Enchanted Shield, Glyph Necklace, Cold One.

    Saurus scar-vet. - 167 pt.
    Halberd, light Armor, shield, BSB, Huanchi's Blessed Totem, Cold One.

    Core:

    Skink Skirmishers
    x 10 - 70 pt.

    Skink Skirmishers x 10 - 70 pt.

    Skink Skirmishers x 10 - 70 pt.
    Special:

    Cold One Calvary x 5 - 235 pt.
    Standard, Sun Standard Of Chotec

    Cold One Calvary x 5 - 220 pt.
    Standard, War Banner

    Grand Total: 991 pt.

    If anyone has any advice or some changes to the list, please tell me.

    I also welcome criticism if any of you have 'em, they're always fun .

    I'd like to see some Terradons in this list. Maybe drop a warbanner and a unit of skinks? Otherwise, I like seeing different lists like this now and then, not just the Slann lists.

    I don't like the halberds on the scar-vets. Would rather just have a spear. With a spear you can still use a shield and get some use out of the enchanted one you have.

    No magic defense and very few units means to me that this list is very vulnerable. You lose a unit of cavalry and you are severely weakened. And you are heavily invested in banners. I just can't see this list doing very well. Hope I am wrong though.

    Very good points mr. sirkently, very good points indeed...

    well to start off, I figured that magic wouldn't be that big of a problem because there shouldn't be that much magic 1000 point lists. and for the magic itself, I figured that I would just have to maneuver around so that I wouldn't get that beat up before they get to the enemy lines.

    As for getting shot up regularly, that is what the Sun standard is for.

    I mainly figured that in a 1000 pts. there wouldn't be that much shooting and/or magic, and if there was then there wouldn't be that much defense defense in their army and if these 2 hard-hitting calvary get into combat, I would most likely have the advantage.

    Correct me if i'm wrong but the only way to give skinks a magical banner is if you give a skink chief the banner and put him in the squad so it turns out to be a 80 point banner(naked chief)

    I think you misread, he is suggesting that he should drop a unit of skinks and the warbanner from the CO unit to buy a unit of terradons, and i completely agree with that. The only other thing i would change is tryinh to get a magic weapon on one of the scarvets, because at the moment you're screwed if you come up against any etherals....

    This is not so true. If I do have to go against ethereals then I will make sure that I will win the combat res sol they can go bye bye.

    Plus isn't the only army that I have to worry about having ethereals is the Vamps?

    very_original is pointing out that Ethereals can only be killed by magic weapons, which your scar vets are currently lacking.

    They can still crumble thoug, and if you play with an army that wins by SCR you are most likely to run straight through the ethereals.
