I'll finally be starting some Lizardmen pretty soon. I'm going to start with the Battallion and work up from there, but I'm not sure what hero to use at 500pts. A Scar-vet seems pretty hitty, but he's kind of slow unless on a Cold-one(not a bad thing, just kind of expensive in points). A lvl2 Skink Priest with a plauge of topek would be kind of cool, but kind of squishy. A Skink Chief would be nice and cheap, but I'm not sure what I'd do with it. Thoughts?
500 point lists are really hard to make as most of our good troops are pricey for a good size unit. I think taking cold ones is really a crap shoot. If your opponent can take them out, you really have nothing left. For there price I think you would be better off spreading the points around to more units.
Up your warrior unit to 15, get a unit of ranked skinks, and another unit of skirmished skinks. I think you would have more staying power.
I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.
In your place I would take out the cav, give the scar vet hide of the cold one and a great weapon.
Obviously dismount him,
Give the saurus a full command, add another unit of skirmishing skinks and chuck in a salamander.
Panic tests are devastating in small games., your saurus unit with the vet will cause fear, as does the salamander, you've got a skink unit to hold quarters/annoy/march block and another as a skink screen against shooting.
