This is an army idea because I have been out of the game for 3ish years and that means new book and new rules so I have no idea what to do with my stuff.
I was wondering what are some character choices people normally take? or what normally is useful?
If this was a 2250 army are there enough points for characters and one being an oldblood on carny? (i dont know the setup on him yet of course)
What would you suggest for a 2k army? (I think thats what my LGC normally plays :/ )
I was thinking taking out a
What do you think about kroxigors now? I have 3 i bought for 6th but idk what to do with them since no one seems to like them TOO much anymore
well and onto the army list.
246-18x Saurus warriors full command and spears
246-18x Saurus Warriors full command and spears
70 -10x skink skirmishers
70 -10xskink skirmishers
260-6xSaurus Cavalry Full Command
I was wondering if this looks pretty good? As I said I am JUST getting back into warhammer and I never really even played to much before mostly 40k . But thanks in advance
I like the kroxigars. I normally field a block of 16 skinks and 2 krox with a banner and a musician. That comes in right around 200 pts, and I feel that for it's point cost, it's a pretty scary unit. With a move of 6", this is an excellent flanking unit, able to shoot across the field to set up those advantageous positions. I admit I haven't fielded them by themselves, because I really like having them as a core unit and with the awesome static combat res (+5).....
my only two quibbles with the list so far are the razordons and the steg. I'm not sure if the razordons are worth it, and I feel that if you're gonna field a steg, might as well make it an ancient because of the extra str and armour save....
an old blood on a carny is prolly gonna run you around 500 pts.... and if you want any sort of magical defense, I'd go with a skink priest scroll caddy on an ancient. so with just those two, that's around 900 pts for characters. yeah, our characters can get rather pricey.....
and since you like the carny, try this one out.... you can actually "hide" the old blood on the carny in a unit... since the carny is no longer a large target, he can be placed in a unit until you get into range, and then he can charge out all by his lonesome. it's a rather effective tactic...
Your unit list is good, but you aren't going to be able to fit in much character wise. I am not a big fan of kroxigors anymore, in or out of skink units. Salamanders work fine by themselves, so a unit with one hunting pack is good. You don't need full command in saurus or cold one units, so you could shave some points off there.
I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.
@Coyote - I thought if a model had over 5 wounds he could be picked out. I don't have my rulebook on me though....
Your going ot have to make some cuts in order to fit in your characters. You need some magic defense at a minimum.
