Hey guys, id like some opinions on this tourney army list, strengths and weaknesses vs different armies and any tips, tactics comments etc.
Plaque of Tepok
Amulet of Itzl
Dispel Scroll or Diadem?
20 Saurus w spears
24 Skink Cohorts
3 Krox Upgrade
15 Skink Skirmishers
15 Skink Skirmishers
Setup: Basically Slann goes solo, Sandwiched between Saurus n Skrox, Priest and one group of skirmishers screen Skrox, Eotg next to saurus, Chief and skirmishers on outer flank of Eotg, Terradons on outer flank of Skrox
Tactics: Slann should be smartly maneuvered to get most out of spells and stay out of charge range. Priests as support employees of slann. Skinks for Frenzy baits and march blocks and for giants/large targets, Terradons to fly and park behind enemy units and for picking out warmachines , Skink Chief with CoF/VoFF should be able to declare a separate charge and leave his unit to suicide WM crew with 4 str 4 poisoned/magic attacks and annoy wizards. Else kite and blast With spells, Lore of Metal for Knights shuld do the trick. Lore of Fire for max channelling frontage(2 Magic Missle Spells, metal only has 1) with skink Priests. Possible change to 3 units of 10 skinks rather than 2 of 15 for better coverage?
Your army seems ok, but what are the tournament rules?
If it has scenarios you need more Saurus. At least 3 units of them.
Also I have seeing that the Mastery gift is bit pointless. Get the Plaque of Tepok and you can have 5 of the 6 spells of the Lore saving quite a few points. Regarding the Diadem, you want to cast the Portent of Far to the Slann and another unit. So you need those 2 power dice because the Slann SHOULD use all the pool.

The tournament rules should pretty much follow the format listed here:
Thanks for the comment, good point on the Diadem, so ill opt for dispel scroll instead. The reason i go for FoM is so that i dont miss out on an important spell like Spirit of the Forge or Cleansing Flare, which does make a difference given certain situations. And i gave the Plaque of Tepok to The priest on EotG for extra firepower.
Im not too sure about the core though, the saurus are more sustainable but the skrox unit has more speed and firepower advantage. So if i take out the skrox i cant kite units into a S6 bashing. Feel free to comment/advise on anything
Its been a while since i played lol, though I played since lizzies were first released and with the old rules my slann had 8d6attacks and three 4+ ward saves and he could make a BT cry lol . Cheesy old days.
The skink chief is an interesting setup. The problem is you can't give him both the blow pipes and additional hand weapon. You only get one upgrade choice, which seems a little silly to me.
I am not a big fan of the skink/krox unit. I would rather separate them out, and have a unit of 4 krox, and a unit or two of 10 ranked skinks. I would also make 3 units of skink skirmishers.
I agree that focus of mystery is very helpful. With all the magic attacks around today though, I might consider the regeneration disciple though. DoC would ignore it, and they are the bane of existence currently.
Lastly, I would also consider trying to get the rod of the storm into the list on the last priest. With all your PD it could be useful.
I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.
Thanks, yeah i overlooked the (1 choice only) , yeah its silly , a chief with the venom of firefly and blowpipes may 're-roll' the dice to hit. wonder if this can double your chances of getting 6's even if you rool hits on the first roll. I did consider Rod of Storm but its a tough decision on optimizing the army list. Maybe ill have a few test matches to see how well it works. Nice call on the Krox separation, id probably scrap the cohorts and take more skirmishers. IMO regen is a good thing but id rather not give away too many victory points if they actually catch my flying toadster, it might just be worth the risk. ;P
