Saurus scar veteran is a bit too squishy try something like this

    Saurus scar veteran (163)
    - Coldone
    - Burning blade
    - Glyph necklace
    - light armor
    - Shield
(gives a 1+ armor/ 5 + ward, but suffers from stupidity but with coldblooded its very rarely an issue)

    Or

    Saurus scar veteran
    - Hide of the coldone
    - great weapon/ hand weapon, shield
    - Battle standard bearer ??

    (toughness 6, strength 7/5 , 3+ armor save/ 1+ armor save, causes fear, stupidity)

with the saurus go for 18 (6x3) with spears and no command this allows you to attack in 2 ranks and gives you 24 attacks if you get charged and you can always opt to use hand weapon/ shield if you prefer the increased armor save.

Skinks are generally optimal in sizes of 10, the kroxigor ancient is not really worth the extra points IMO

    Hope this helps

You really don't need full command for saurus, unless you're facing an army that has a lot of combat res. I'd drop all or part of the command and use it to add more saurus, or give the skink priest the cloak of feathers which gives you a highly mobile spell caster that can hit from anywhere and generally avoid attacks.
