Welcome to Librarium Online!
ive played a few games with my friend who has a VC army and im throwing together a short list with a risky strategy, open to severe criticism as im sure it will be given. last game ethereal units worked very well for him (would have been less effective if we knew his ethereal units cant walk on water, he screened/destroyed my skink skirmishers in the lake easily) but i suspect he will use them again.
so heres the list...
12 skinks with 2 kroxigars
18 saurus +spear, standard
16 saurus +spear, standard
5 cold one calvary with standard + magic standard (undecided, probably dominion)
scar vetran 188 pts
light armor, shield
sword of hornet or whatever
statue of spite
skink Priest 150 pts
rod of storm
diadem of power
oldblood 251 points
light armor, shield
blade of realities
charm of jaguar warrior
k so i put scar vet in unit with 16 saurus, cold one counters fear, magic weapon to handle ethereals.
so i save power dice from priest to dispel any summons he trys, as i get 5 dispel dice, then at the vital point use all 4 of casting dice(hopefully have an offensive spell), add rod of storm, statue of spite, then have charm of jaguar warrior to jump my oldblood where i want to deliver those leadership tests or die attacks, i dont think he can dispel all of that.
i was finding EotG too expensive in a 30% max hero list. i know its crazy strategy but im open to any suggestions. also would love some general strategy for lizardmen vs VC if you got any.

If he has any dispel scrolls, I don't think your magic flurry will get you much. I would swap the rod for a scroll, and the charm for a cold one. Get your oldblood the enchanted shield as well.
For the unit with kroxigors, you need 8 skinks per krox, so you are short. Don't like the unit much myself, so I would drop it for something else. Maybe another scroll caddy.
I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.
just so eveyrone knows, this was a terrible straegy, i was eaten up easy
very magic heavy VC army, had 12 dice, first magic phase he suceeded raise dead(1 dice, by necromancer), danse macabre(2 dice, vampire), and 7 of 8 castings of nehek(lvl 4 lord with +2 dice power, and the 2 army dice), i was able to dispel two of those neheks with my 3 dispel dice, raised about 15 zombies and 25 skeletons(good rolls, corpse cart+1, vampire powers +1) got curse of years off as well as a hwole crapload of neheck the seond time giving him a huge amount of skeletons and zombies, the stegadon and general in unit of saurus both attack zombies, actually kill them all off, and overrun into his carin wraiths(damn ethereal) i freaking forgot to dispel curse of years which causes enough wounds to make one of my units take a panic test, with coldblooded, they fail and break, battle standard useless. then on his turn my general takes a terror test, fails(who gets a 10+ leadership with coldblooded?), runs like a few inches and is caught and killed, along with my other unit of saurus (my stegadon actually didnt overrun, no magic attacks so no reason to attack the ethereal units), my cavalry were able to keep his cavalry and bats at bay, but with nothing left but some skinks and terradons, and a stegadon who was about to get charged by his carin wraiths, i just went ahead and surrendered.
thanks for the suggestions, only thing is i cant get any more hero points if i drop the krox unit as im capped at 30%, with his army a slann with becalming woulda helped a LOT, and a scroll would be nice for that curse of years, but with so many casts of 1 die each its kinda hard to stop.
