    Friendly/competitive 2250 army

    Okay, so I got the Lizardmen army book yesterday and I was going through it, read some army lists and was wondering if this would be a good army list.

    Lords:

    Slann Mage-Priest

    Focus of Mystery, Focused Rumination, Belcaming Cogitation. Cupped hands, Dispel scroll

    445 = 19.7%

    Heroes:

    Skink Chief

    BSB, Stegadon.

    315 = 14%

    Core:

    19 Saurus Warriors FC

    239

    19 Saurus Warriors FC

    239

    12 Skink Skirmishers

    84

    562 = 24.97% I calculated it, and for 25% you need 562.5 points, is that half a point really needed? if so then I'm one point short there.

    Special:

    Stegadon

    235

    6 Cold one Cavalry FC

    260

    20 Temple guard FC

    355

    850 = 37.7%

    Wich brings me at a grand total of 2172 points, some points still left until 2250. The idea is to have the Saurus take some of the beating while the Stegadons dish out the damage, the Slann of course being the powerful caster reigning destruction upon his enemies and the skirmishers picking out stragglers and being a nuisance. And the Cold ones being the hammers. That's what I got so far. Any feedback will be very helpful seeing I don't have much experience with Lizardmen yet.

    You most definitely need the minimum core choice allotment. Try to get the Warrior units up to 20 apiece by dropping all but the musician on the Calvary unit since it's just going to be a harassing unit anyways. Although I've never attempted giving the BS to the Chief, it sounds like a terrible idea when you could give it to the Slann instead. You will probably want either Chameleons or Terradons (or both) for war machine hunting and having salamanders is never a bad choice either. Food for thought.

    Changed the list a little to this:

    Lords:

    Slann Mage-Priest
    Focus of Mystery, Focused Rumination, Belcaming Cogitation. Cupped hands, BSB
    445 = 19.7%

    Heroes:

    Skink Priest Lv1
    Dispel Scroll
    90

    Saurus Scar-Veteran
    Sword of Strife, Enchanted Shield, Light armor
    135

    225 = 10%

    Core:

    24 Saurus Warriors FC
    294

    30 Saurus Warriors FC
    360

    654 = 29%

    Special:

    5 Chameleon Skinks
    60

    5 Chameleon Skinks
    60

    6 Cold one Cavalry Banner
    Warbanner
    255

    16 Temple guard FC
    309

    684 = 30.4%

    Rare:

    2 Salamander hunting pack
    Extra handlers
    160

    1 Salamander hunting pack
    extra handler
    80

    240 = 10.6%

    Grand total: 2248 points

    Your slann can't have two arcane items. Give the scroll to the priest.

    Split the salamanders up into three units, and give each an extra handler.

    I don't think the one stegadon will accomplish much, and will just be a huge target for any warmachines.

    I would lose a few chameleons and bump up your warrior units. Maybe add some to one unit to get it up to around 30. Drop the other down to around 18 for a flanking unit, or up to at least 24 for a main line unit.

    Banners for the temple guard and cold one riders can be useful as well.

    Those are my suggestions,

    I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.

    Doesn't the new rules state that you can only have 2 duplicate rare choices unless it's a grand army?

    Sorry about that. You can split them into a unit of 2, and a unit of 1. You are allowed two of the same under 3k, 4 at 3k and above.

    Okay, made another edit to the second list. Added a Saurus Scar-Veteran for the 30 block unit of Saurus Warriors.
