i made this list to play friendly games with my brother and some friends. the armies i will be facing are high elves, orcs and goblins, and warriors of chaos. in addition to any help that could be offered about the actual structure of the army, could anybody help me with a battle plan for any battle in general? thanks in advance!
Heroes = 140 points
Skink priest (level 2 wizard, plaque of tepok, dispell)
core = 404 points
20 saurus warriors (spears, full command) 270 points
12 skink skirmishers 84 points
10 skinks with javelins 50 points
special = 380
10 temple guard 160 points
5 cold ones (standard bearer, huanchis blessed totem) 220
rare = 75 points
Salamander hunting pack 75 points
I'd save running with Temple Guard until you have a Slaan in your army.
Add an extra handler to your Salamander unit (5pts), godly if you roll a 5 or 6 and your Salamander eats the 3 handlers you currently have.
Consider a unit of Terradons.
Temple guard aren't really worth the points in such a small unit. I would drop them. In a small game like this, try to conserve points whereever you can. In that vien, I would change the warriors from spears to hand weapons. Run your skink unit at 10 strong. Run the cold ones at 6 strong, including characters if you ever have any in the unit. As Stolli said, get an extra handler for the salamander.
With the extra points, you could grab a unit of terradons, and/or some chameleons. Maybe a cheap skink chief for a general. About your priest, you can't have 2 arcane items (scrolls count against this limit now).
I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.
