    3000 Point Competitive List

    Lords

    Slann: BSB, Focused Rumination, Becalming Cog, Cupped Hands = 395

    Heroes

    Skink Priest: Level 2, Dispel Scroll = 115

    Scar Veteran: Light Armour, Sword of Striking, Shield = 108

    Core

    40 Saurus: Full Command = 470
    39 Saurus: Full Command = 459 (Scar Vet goes in this unit)
    11 Skink Skirmishers = 77
    10 Skink Skirmishers = 70

    Special

    21 Temple Guard: Full Command, Lichbone Pennant Standard = 371
    6 Chameleon Skinks = 72
    6 Chameleon Skinks = 72
    Stegadon = 235
    Stegadon = 235

    Rare

    2 Salamanders with extra handlers = 160
    2 Salamanders with extra handlers = 160

    Total = 2999 Points

    Open to suggestions, I think it is a bit of a gamble running 2 Stegs, but with so many cannons around these days I feel 1 won't last that long. I will probably run Life with this list, possibly Light or Death on the odd occasion. Does anyone have any suggestions on poss changes? The only thing I can see is maybe a W/Save on my Scar Vet.

    Focus of Mystery is usually an auto include.

    Heroes

    Drop to level one as his only purpose is to carry the scroll. The slann will use all the power dice up and then some.

    I like the armour of destiny and a great weapon, as the setup provides good protection and good offense.

    I haven't found hordes of warriors to be effective. 30 is usually sufficient.

    Might consider sticking the priest on one of these stegadons (well an ancient one) as an engine. Also, I would go with the banner of eternal flame or the discipline pendant over the lichborne.

    3 per unit is standard. More templates are better.

    you have to have min of 10 skink chameleons in a unit and cant have more than 750 points of special in a 3000 point battle, if you play friendly most people wont care but if competitive most people you play will say something and if you dont have more models with you people may refuse to fight you and your skink priest is 125 points with that layout. sorry not having a go but i think once you rebalance the list it will be more effective. one last thing more people need to fear lizardmen so keep up the good fight.

    Special can cost up to 50% of the army total. So at 3000 points you can spend up to 1500 points on special selections.

    I have been experimenting with using eight chameleons in 2 X 4 formations. Sometimes my dice rolls are not very good and rolling 16 dice helps improve my odds.
    But, I think most people will think eight is too many.
