My main strategy will be to move the saurus up with the skinks as a screen in front. The terradons will move up to kill any lone mages or warmachines, etc..., then move from behind to rear charge while my saurus attack. The Kroxigors will be on one flank, and will charge through the skinks after they move out of the way for the saurus. One of the skink units will be a small defense on one of my flanks.
When I feel that the terradons will not be neccessary for a certain battle, what should I do with the remaining points?
My main opponents will be orcs, HE, and empire, so I need a list that can be effective against all of these oponents. Any tactics against these armies would be appreciated.
well its a nice army accept a few changes i would make
take the mussicins out of the suarus as they are not going to running anywhere
and try to fit a saurus scar vet in
The only change I would suggest is dropping 2 skinks, 1 from each unit with javelins and shields, and making the other unit scouts, allowing you to slow enemy advances with blowpipe fire
The army is all right. Though myself I always use a Scar-vet, I love them. But you could do without him.
Gingerninja's suggestion is a good one.
I wouldn't take out the musicians. You can always use them in a CR draw.
If you feel the Terradons won't be nessecary for a battle, I'd either take a Scar-vet or couple of Salamanders.
A Scar-vet is always nice. But if you include him in a unit, also buy a champion for that unit. Too protect the Scar-vet from unwanted challenges. And the Salamanders will be very usefull against all of your opponent. As they're all relatively low on armour.
But you'll need Terradons against both HE and Empire. They both have excellent artillery, which are nearly allways taken.
Thanks for the advice. I will decide weather to keep the musician after i play a few games. When I dont use the terradons I will use the Scar Vet. But what should I do with this list against Orcs and Goblins? My friend i know has a boar chariot, night goblins /w fanatics, goblin wolf riders, and Orc boys /w spears and shields.
Take his Boyz on with your Saurus. You're superior, both in fighting and in Ld. And with his shields he'll have a inferior save in HtH. Don't worry about charging (because of his spears), you'll probably kill a substantial part of his front rank. Leaving him not much more to strike back with than if he had charged.
And try to flank him. With his inferior Ld, he'll run. But this might prove difficult because he'll probably outnumber you.
If he is about to flank your Saurus with gobbos, you can try to hold them up with Skinks.
You can get his Fanatics out with either Skinks (sacrificing them possibly) or with your Terradons.
Your Kroxies will rip through his Chariot with their high strength.
Btw, when you're playing HE, you'll want to get a Dispel Scroll. Maybe two.
well 1000 points thgree heros right so here is my Gw tournament list that i won the tournament with but unfortunaltly i cant reveal all my secret so bare with me

i wanna see the look on your opponents faces when they see a 18 inc scar vet charge at there chariot with 4 strenght 7 attacks have fun
by the way any one wanna comment on this list
Well Kroxigor88, that is the first time I have ever seen a stegadon in a 1000pt army. I understand why it is there, and to be honest I wouldn't want to fight it!!
Would you ever consider dropping the terradons for say a skink priest, rather than a scar veteran?
I have also won a small tournament with my High elf army, but never that small, only 1500 and 2000, I find we are ineffective below this pointage! :p
I'd keep the second list as is, it looks good. You don't need an extra character either IMO, save that for the 1.5k version of the list.
If you wanted to, I also think that you could cut the terradons for an upgrade to scouts for a second unit of skinks, and adding a third unit of skink scouts too. With the spare points, I'm pretty sure you can make each skink unit about 12 strong too.
This will give you a nice force to whittle down opposing forces with before smashing them with your steggie and saurus block.
The iron crowned is getting closer,
Swings his hammer down on him,
Like a thunderstorm he's crushing,
Down the Noldor's proudest king.
Under my foot, so hopeless it seems.
You've troubled my day, now feel the pain.
