This is the army list from my old post edited.
12 Saurus Warriors w/ hand weps W/ Standard and Musician=162
12 Saurus Warriors w/ spears w/ Standard and Musician=162
12 skinks w/ blowpipes and Brave=77
12 skinks w/ javelins and Brave=77
6 Cold One Cavalry w/ spears and Champion=225
1 Salamander Hunting Pack=65
2 Saurus Scar-vets w/ hand wep, light armour, shield, 1 BmOTOO, 1 Cotjw=219
1 Skink Priest w/ hand wep, Level 2, 2 Dispel Scrolls=150
First of all there's some relatively wastefull stuff.
The spears on the Saurus won't have much use in such a small unit. I'd only give Saurus spears in a 20+ strong unit. Just leave them with handweapons. If you want an extra attack, give both Saurus units a champion.
The Braves have little use. If only the braves were brave and provided an extra point of Ld but alas, I'd drop them. Their BS4 won't make enough of a difference.
With the Priest I'd either focus on casting or on dispelling. If you want to really cast something I'd at least get another Lvl1 Priest. A single lvl2 Priest won't get much through at 1k.
If you focus on dispelling I'd drop the extra level to spend those points in places of more use.
On to the Scar-vets. First of all I'd drop one of them. 3 characters in a 1k army is too much, unless you're playing Undead armies of course... Spend the thus saved points on additional Salamanders or maybe some Terradons instead.
If you really want 2 Scar-vets you could consider giving them both a Spawning of Tepok (+1 DD) and dropping the Priest altogether.
Also, whether you go with 1 or 2 Scar-vets, give htem at least a great weapon for some hitting power.
And what is a BmOTOO?
I think he means Blessed mark of the Old Ones.
But yeah, all I have to say Araith more or less covered it. All I have to add is the mark of the old ones is not worth it at all on a scar-vet IMO. Second Sign from the lore of heavens does pretty much the same thing each turn the only drifference is you have to cast it and it doesn't work in your oponent's turn.
The only time I heard of some1 give the mark of the old ones good rep is when using a skink priest with I think the cube of darkness, or w/e that thing is that ends your oponents magic phase.
One problem - I've already assembled the spear wielding Saurus. Is it okay to treat them as if wielding hand weapons without having to rip them apart? Also, I forgot to add that I do have Champions in both units.
Also, this may sound very silly but I don't want to drop my second Scarvet because I spent quite a bit of money and time on him in real life, and leaving him out would be a waste of money in my opinion. Instead of dropping him, what do you think I should do with him?
I'm really only getting the priest for dispelling purposes, so I'll keep that in mind.
With the Saurus, you could put all your handweapon Saurus in the first rank and hte spear Saurus in the 2nd rank. Then remove the spear Saurus first as casualties and you should be fine.
It'd look great too.
For the Scar-vet dilemma I've got 2 options for you.
1. Use as I said both Scar-vets but drop the Priest. Give both Scar-vets a Spawning of Tepok and you'll have 1 DD more and 2 scrolls less than you'd have otherwise, for 75 pts less. If you think that's not enough dispel power you could even get one of your Saurus units the Spawning of Tepok.
2. Use one of the Scar-vets as a unit champion.
