This is an idea I had for a friendly 500 points warbands list. I am new to Lizardmen, so this is my first Lizard list.
Saurus Scar Veteren
10 Skinks w/ Blowpipes
11 Saurus w/ Hw/Shield
3 Terradon Riders
1 Salamander Hunting Pack
TOTAL - 498
Comments would be appreciated. Thanks for your input in advance.
I'm not a fan of the skink brave. I'd drop him for another skink. 1-2 extra shots, 1 extra wound, and sometimes it makes it harder to panick, all in exchange for 1 BS and a chance to lose lots of CR if the brave gets challenged(not that skinks should be in combat). You could also just use the points to give a musician to the saurus.
With the saurus unit 11 is an awkward number. I'd drop the standard or the champion and use the points to make ir 12. Alternately you could drop 1 saurus in exchange for 2 skinks.
I don't play Lizardmen, but a quick observation.Originally Posted by Evan8433
I don't think that he intends to field the Saurus alone as an 11 man unit. Most likely he'll put the Scar Veteran in the unit, making that a unit of 12 with three four man ranks. I think that'll end up being pretty beefy since it's already starting fairly high on combat resolution and it's got a ton of hitting power besides. Looks fairly stout to me just the way he has it.
You win the prize, that Scar Vet goes with the Saurus.
I kept the brave for the same reason you didn't like the 11 man Saurus unit. The 10 man unit feels better to me than an 11 man. One less guy to paint too
Besides, if my opponent decides to challenge the brave and gets lots of extra combat rez, I will dance a happy dance, because otherwise he would have killed just as many skinks and he got in overkill, and those fellows get to fight back against his unit.
The only exception to that would be if my opponent was packing multi wound weaponry, which I find highly unlikely in 500 point warbands games.
Well then there's nothin much to change is there? You could try and change the scar-vet's equip. up a little but he's pretty much fine.
Played my first game with the list today against dwarves. It worked out pretty well for me, I only lost 8 skinks when all was said and done.
