My first army list was rather strong (Or so I was told) so I started to play around. I love high armor saves (Even though I don't know if it really matters for the points). So I found the wonders of Quetzl!
Well here is my list!
Sarus Scar vetran, shield, light armor
2x Packs skink skermishers wth javelins and shield
2 units of sarus 14+ hero with std and mus
Skink Cheif with enchanted shield, staff of the lost sun.
All obviously have +1 armor save but the krozigores
how does everything have a 1 + save because only saaurus can take the spawning and the saurus will only have a 3+ or 2+ in combat
I think what he means is +1 added to thier save. Also, in sacred host lists, skinks are allowed and required to take the spawning.Originally Posted by hero
Anyway, on to the army list itself. It does look pretty solid. I love the quetzl list myself. The only thing i would suggest would be throw away the skink chief for a priest. I don't think the chief is useless like most other would say but you need some magic protection. Not sure how many points u have into him but try and get a lvl 1 priest with a dispell scroll or a lvl 2. priest. Magic is really important in fantasy so I would include it all the time.

get one preist with dispel scroll instead of the skink chief or else you will pounded by magic
i play Quetzl my self. it really rules :w00t: . just to make it clear, it is not everything that can have the BS of Quetzl. it is only the scar-vet, old-blood, saurus, skink skirmishers, skink priests and skink chiefs, and they are requiered to have it. it costs the normal price for saurus and saurus characters, but for skink priests, chiefs and skirmishers it only costs 5 pts. the skink priests also use the lore of death.
i agree with the others. the skink chief cant really be used fo anything. change him for a skink priest with 2x dispell scroll.

Alright, so change the skink to a preist. I do like the 3 shots at BS 4 str 5. I was thinking that may help. Taking the sacred host can help. If you have 15 or more sarus's in a unit it's worth the points (Over 15 it's cheaper then in a standard list) and under 15 it's more expensive. I like to keep units of 15, 5*3. So bolt throwers are not as mean and I have better frontage.
Edited! Changed skink to level 1 preist. Will change to 2 if I can find 15 more points.

Tactics eh? Here's a shot.
For deployment, I'd put the two saurus unit next to each other with the scar-vet it one. Have the krox on a flank and the SP within 5" of a unit so he can't be targetted. Use the skinks to screen the kroxigors, the unit with the scar-vet, and try, if there's no terrain or anything in the way to get the other saurus unit behind the screen.
When you move the skink screen from the saurus out of the way, try and keep them out of LOS so they don't get charged and can keep peppering the enemy units. Once the krox charge through try and do the same thing. If you can, move some skinks towards war machines and let them shoot up the crew.
Pretty basic tactics, if you want more in depth tactics just search around the forum. TPV(the pyramid vault) has GREAT information there. It's the best lizardmen resource IMO.
