I'm curious how you all like to gear up your Jaguar necklaced hero in order to get maximum effect.
Well I think the bare essentials are these:
Scar-vet with CoJW (dur!), BSoSotek, LA, shield, great weapon.
Great for damaging small units of knights, chariots and characters. Can't argue with 5 s7 attacks and an 18" charge range :elvis: Also he won't break the bank as he weighs in at 133 pts. Not bad for what he can do.
Some people like to go for the BSoQuetzl. Personally I'm not a fan. If he has a second spawning then it's going to be the BSoTepok for that extra dispel dice. I don't mind paying the 4 pts for LA and a shield but I'm not going to pay 5 times that amount for another +1 save especially when I can get a dispel dice for that!
The oldblood has a few more options open to him as he can take more magic items. I especially like the piranha blade for killing characters and multi-wound units, very nasty! Generally, though, I find the oldblood a lot of points to be sending out on his own and prefer, if I can, to stick with the Scar-vet build.
As a rule of thumb I don't ever make the JSoD my general. No way am I sending out his valuable ld and an extra 100VP from the main bulk of my army.
Let us know how you get on
Stonehambey pretty much nailed it on the head.
Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that, who cares, your a mile away and you have his shoes!!
Chuck Norris invented water
I would like to say, jaguar lizardmen heros are nasty, and stone got all the facts so....
Float like a butterfly, Sting like a bee!
He doesn't need Huanchi to use terrain to his advantage hes a single model so can move through terrain freely.I agree totaly with not buying Quetzl im a fan of Sotek or even Huanchi if the terrain can be used to your advantage.
I always give my JSoD Quetzl, without it he has only a 4+ armour save in combat and 3+ unmodified vs shooting. "Only" you say, well the amount of times he has fluffed his 5 attacks on the charge and been hit back, I think its a sound investment. I also sometimes give him Venom of the Firefly Frog so he can go ethereal creature hunting, I loathe banshees...
