heyy i'd just bought 3 salamanders last week and it was my first time using an artillery dice and having lost mine borrowed someone elses who's happened to be european..
suprisingly *cough* the salamanders were doing rediculously well untill one of the GW staff pointed out i was using a european Artillery dice (which goes up to 25) instead of an english one (that goes up to 10) lmao..
cause in european games they measure in centimeters or something??
but in european games what are the rules for the salamanders? because a 65 point model pulling out 25 shots a turn is a bit overkill (as i found out )
wow I need to go play in europe.
3. Marital Bliss 2. Military Intelligence 1. MICROSOFT WORKS
Vassal Record 1-2.
I am not European but I would guess that they just roll a D6 and double the result with a 6 being a misfire.
Thats totally untrue guys ^^
I am from europe and we play with inches and not with centimeters. And therefore we use the same dice they use everywhere else , the one that goes up to ten, when determining salamander hits.
That misfire dice is one used for things like BFG. The one you want is 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, Misfire, so just get hold of one of those, or assign these values in the place of 5, 10, etc on your dice.
Europe uses the metric system: 10mm = 1 cm, 10 cm = decimeter, 10 dm = 1 meter. (100 cm = meter, 1000 meter = 1kilometer) In this respect it's superior to the english (imperial) system in which there is no correlation based on the number 10, making the metric easier to use. For this reason the US army uses the metric system.
1 inch = 2,54 centimeter.
But all warhammer games i have ever seen in europe always uses inches. The game was designed to use inches, so why not?
And as far as the artillery dice, i never heard of different dice for each continent.

Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.

The Dutch Legion
I believe that dice is from Epic. Europeans play WHFB and 40k in inches like everyone else, however epic was in CM.
When I bought my GW dice box tin, I got both of those dice in the mix.
