Welcome to Librarium Online!
I am a little confused. How does armour and shields affect the scaly saves??
Scaly skin adds to your save just like any piece of armour. 6+ scaly skin and light armour gives you a 5+ save and so on.

Thank you! I think I get it now.
In previous editions, Scaly Skin was essentially a Ward save. I think it also use to not be counted when factoring in Lore of Metal type stuff.
Now, it's just basically a fancy way of saying light or heavy armor, and reacts the exact same way. Basically when you see Scaly Skin 6+ for example, it might as well just say Light Armor.
Except on characters, where it can stack with armor, but since they basically can't take heavy armor anyway, it's still virtually same diff.
I do recall being told their was one difference in the current 7th ed, like 1 time it did effect you differantly, but danged if I can remember what it was. Maybe it was Lore of Metal? Don't think so but I can't remember for the life of me what it was, and it's been forever since I had anything but Fire, Necro, Heavens, or High used against me on a regular basis. Maybe someone else here can point it out.
