I'm making up an epic storyline for the General of my army and I want to make it a female in honor of my dearly departed pet lizard. I'm not sure if Lizardmen even have genders though, and I want to go at least partially by established fluff. Can anyone shed light on this?
I'm pretty sure that Lizzies are genderless. They don't actually reproduce, they're spawned from great pools of.....magic-infused....protoplasm-type-stuff I guess.
They have no need of gender, it would only interfere with their service to the will of the Old Ones.

I second mpdscott. If they do have genders, the females (assuming sexual dimorphism) probably live in a separate facility/community (a breeding ground) and society is polygamous without long-term relationships ("free-love" kinda situation).
...yeah. No genders, sorry. However, what I would do is paint the lizzy pink, and call it a girl.
Edit: sure, why not Zema?
Note that I absolutely love pink...
Well, I think that your former lizard would be honored that you're taking a female general in honor of her.

I agree on the lizmen not having genders. I also feel that a pink lizman would look... eh...not so scary.
But im me, and I might be wrong.
Try it and see, but I wouldnt.
Skinks may aswell be given handbags instead of shields aswell.
I'm not a fan of pink space marines though.
