Welcome to Librarium Online!
As title, cost whys and compared to other armys too.I think they are way over priced and wouldnt use any besides chakax and tetto your opinions?
'hatred is true power' ritual master garth, the 11th
I'd largely agree. Kroak and Mazda are hugely expensive and don't do all that much. Kroak can be a good magic battery, so he could be useful at 3k points. Mazda is just ridiculously expensive.
Tetto'Eko is awesome-sauce, I think a lot of competitive lists will feature him.
Chakax is the ultimate character killer, we'll be seeing him plenty.
Gor'Rok has a nice trick, but it's all that hot.
Tehenuain takes up a Lord slot, no thanks.
Tiktaq'To, apart from having a stupid name, isn't all that great either. I'll just field a Chief with the Cloak of Feathers or some Terradons.
Oxyotl looks interesting, but I would have preferred him to be an upgrade character for Chameleon skinks.

I kinda agree with how the point costs of the special characters seem a bit high, out of the characters I like Chakax the most. Love his special abilities and he has decent stats. I'm betting to see him used most by players because of his rules and simply because theirs a model for him.
I like Gor-Rok though I wish he has one more wound or some kind of ward save.
Tetto-Eko has very powerful rules and is one of the few special characters with a modest point cost.
Tiktaq'To would be great but for such a high cost in points I'd never use him.
I'm with ==Me== in that I think Oxyotl should be an upgrade character for a unit of chameleon skinks but a lone super chameleon can get around and cause some good chaos in the enemy, too bad the chameleons scout like normal units now. But I love the idea of having a lone chameleon harrassing my opponents
Although Lord Kroak may be about half of his former point cost, his special rules have been nearly stripped down to the core with only a sparse few. His deliverance is good in some regard but to me it screams for the ability to ignore ward saves or something since it isn't nearly powerful as the fluff leads it to be and is his only spell. Making a unit of temple guard unbreakable though is a winner. I think he's no way near as cool as he was but is still a usable choice assuming you run him in a unit of temple guard, which will create a very high price unit.
Kroq-gar is a bit more viable than he was and his 'hand of the gods' ability has some increased range so it's much more usable but now that it doesn't ignore armour saves I don't really care anymore. He costs even more than what he was and his spear doesn't make the additional leadership test to be taken which to me is much better than it's new rules. Altogether I think he is very overpriced but still a decent choice.
Tehenhauin doesn't have anything really all that impressive giving his point cost and the fact that he takes up a lord choice, though if I was facing Skaven he could be a possible choice.
What to say about good ol Mazdamundi and his sturdy stegadon steed Zlaaq...I like Zlaaq
I think Mazdamundi and Kroak would be fairly good if they still had some of the old slann generations rules but not anymore.
Warhammer 40k: Blood Angels, Imperial Guard, Grey Knights, Space Lizards (wolves), Kroot, Witch Hunters, Dark Eldar
Warhammer: Lizardmen, Empire, Vampire Counts, Brettonians, High Elves, Skaven
I really wanted to like Tiktaq'to, but his points are very prohibitive.
Lord Kroak's ability to make TG unbreakable is really sweet, but with having only one spell, he could be asking for trouble. You face off against an army that has a "spell destroyer" effect, and that 600pt mummified toad can drop in value quickly.
And as far as Tehenhauin goes, I have to ask, why a Lord choice? <groan>
Kroak agianst Teclis now that would be a magic duel worth watching oh no teclis being cheaper would win anyway and if he used his scroll which can make you forget a spell on Kroak that is 560 points gone( he still makes the temple guard unbreakable)
Am I the only one who HATES oxhotal and Tehunian points and slots are the problems respectivly. Teteco isn't bad he is just not usefull
Daemonic cheese-how? Well, you would need to start with daemonic milk, i guess...
I actually think Mazamundi is okay, maybe a little over priced, but think what he can do! First off you get a Slann with a 2+ armour save and a 4+ ward. He knows all the spells from one lore and then RoC as well (which I admit at 13+ to cast is too hight.) He is stubborn Ld 9 with a reroll and is ItC becuase he is ridding a massive ancient stegadon. I mean, if it is a battle between him and Kroak, its got to be Mazamundi every time, though for about half the points you can take Tetto'Eko so I don't think you will see either of them.
I think there will be a lot of lists with Tetto'Eko, Skink priest with EotG, and a Slann with +1 power dice, all spells and chosing Lore of Heavens - ouch.
I think most of the characters are too expensive by a bit. The one I would consider using the most is Gor-Rok. Not being able to pursue him if he breaks from combat could be great. The chameleon guy is ok too, though I don't like chams. If you don't mind him running around alone, he could be useful.
I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.
TiqTaqToe, besides his fail of a name, is interesting as he's the first character riding a flying mount that can actually join other units. He's unique that way, and the notion of terradons coming on in later turns could really cause problems.
