which is better the salamander, or the razordon??? The salamander has an inaccurate shot and cant stand and shoot, but its -3 to your save and causes panic, razordons are great for guarding flanks and killing fast cav trying to flank you and they are also great for preventing enemy charges... this is a mind bottling situation...

I would say, most of the time, you're probably better off without either. This is just a pendulum swing for GW. Sallies were good last edition, so this edition, they will give us another unit just like the salamander, but make both of them a pretty lame choice. If they dropped the price on them by 20pts, I'd say take some, but as it is, you'd be better served with some terribly weak terradons or more skinks or just about anything else.
I agree with buck that neither are really that great a choice. If I was going to take one or the other, it would depend on the points I wanted to spend. If you can get 3, the razordons can packa punch, but are pricey. If you can only get 1 or 2, I would take salamanders, as there ability to panic other units may come in handy.
I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.
that makes sense, Im going to be experimenting then
If they were 55pts a pack I'd use them every now and then. If they had 18" range instead of next to nothing, I'd find room for a couple. But as they are now, I'd be better off getting a scarvet on a horned one. He packs a better punch and can charge and do damage to whatever you wanted to shoot at with better accuracy and range for the price of 2 sallies or 2 spikadons.
The razordon is useless with 12" range. The salamander is great against goblins or gnoblers and even empire troops or ogres have a 50:50 chance of panic when they suffer 1 casulty. 3 can cause some serious damage aggainst ranked units and -3 to armour is nice. I wouldn't use them agaist WoC though.
Daemonic cheese-how? Well, you would need to start with daemonic milk, i guess...
I think both of these are viable options, but only as part of certain strategies. Given the fact that Lizzies are the largest armies in the game, a proper full unit of these make a great way to portect a flank. People will generally just avoid them if they can, so they make a good deterrent.
As to the best option, I find that it's a bit of an odd answer. Salamanders are better in the vast majority of cicumstances I feel. lets face it, after rolling to hit, they'll probably get the same number of hits, and then slalmnaders have a better chance of killing something and will cause panic regardless of how much they actually bother to do.
The only time I think Razordons are better are against ITP armies, as you simply need to wipe theese things out. given thier lack of an armor save usually, and the fact they will likely survive long enough to get a charge, I think it works out.
How are lizardmen the "largest" army in the game? Do you mean just on model size, because they don't have anywhere near the highest model count.
I would say Salamanders are better than the razordons. The template is pretty large (8.5 inches I think) considering the maximum scatter is 10 inches, so even if you scatter poorly you can cover a decent amount of models in a ranked up unit. I think it is better than a cannon for accuracy, because you always have a 8.5 inch footprint instead of having to roll for it. Also, -3 armor save is very nice.
