Just played my second game and beat a melee empire army.
A few questions though. Recently having been introduced to fantasy I was wondering;
When I'm charged. Should I use spears for the extra 10 attacks? or should I use shields and hope to survive enough attacks to win out combat resolution without my saurus dieing?
What about if I'm charging them?
Also, What is your prefered unit size?
I'm been using 12 which makes it look a bit odd. would 15 be more appropriate? or should I go to 20?

if charged spears. if charging remember you dont get to use the second rank the turn you charge.
you cant change weapons in the same combat. should you break the unit or be broken and get into another combat you can choose what to use.
You are right, but it is not for the whole battle just for each combat. ie you are charged, and use spears, you are stuck with spears till the combat is over but if you win and then charge another unit you can switch to handweapons.Possibly a noob question, but I was under the impression that you couldn't change the equipment of a unit mid-battle. What's the deal here?That depends on if you expect to win in the first round easily. If you do then might as well go with hand weapons so you lose less lizardmen to return attacks. If you think that the combat will last more than a turn, then you are better with spears to win (hopefully) in round 2.What about if I'm charging them?I think that 12 is a good number, or 15 for the extra rank you get. 20 does cost an awful lot though, maybe 18 (3x6) would work.Also, What is your prefered unit size?
I only play Lizardmen at low points (< 1200 points) games though so that has an impact on unit sizes.
personally i would never take a musician. points you can spend elsewhere. should you tie combat coldblooded should make up for the fact you lost by 1.
