Hey, wanted to find out the general thoughts on what magic lore is best for the slann with the new(ish) rules.
Im thinking with focus of mystery it has to be shadows with its two game breaking spells.
Without the focus i'd probably go for metal because every spell is useful.
What say you!?

I think every one has a use depending on what army you are playing. The only exception is heavens in my opinion.
I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.
I think they all have a time and place depending on the your list and your opponents.
Light I play alot of Daemons.
Beasts is my goto lore unless I know my oppenents play style, its the most well rounded magic list, with 2 attack spells 3 support spells and a spell that can help our stegadons, and over come our cold ones stupidity if it comes to that. Also lowest casting values in the game, which can be a good or bad thing but it saves me some points on miscast protection. Shooting hunters spear from a flying skink is also just incredibly funny as well.
Is Hunter's spear a magic missile ?
Yes it is.
The "best" lore is entirely enemy dependant isn't it, I mean metal for chaos, fire for swarm armies shadow vs other lizardmen.
It also depends on your own army build as well surely I mean without any cavalry Beasts is a bit wasted but shadow could be great (free moves).
The best thing about Slaan is that you can use the magic to plug the holes that your army has, need Immune to Psychology, Light rocks that party. Lacking shooting maybe fire will help balance you. No terradons maybe you need life to target those warmachines.
Heavens is probably the worst lore as the skinks can all get it, so the Slaan shouldn't need it.
Did not vote for above reasons.
Its all dependant on what army he faces, but as i fight Wood Elves a lot, for me its Fire hahaha burn twig things buuuurn!!! ya cant stop conflagration of doom unlesss they roll higher than you,
in a recent example 1 ancient treeman dead in turn 1, it cost over 300 points and my friend was cursing his bad luck, i got about 24 hits before he stopped it!
It totally is dependent on yours, and your opponent's lists. In my case, with two Stegadons, and a target for Bear's Anger, Beasts is going to be my #1 choice, however, some match ups do require to get Metal or Fire for damage support instead.
It's Adventure Time!
