    Character Killing

I was looking around for combo's that Oldblood can use to fight at least on an even par with other tough combat characters, such as the red fury + dread lance vamp lord.
I'll start it off, (unless i've misread a rule somewhere) take an additional hand weapon, then take both the Blade of Realities and Sword of the Hornet, for multiple strike first attacks that can kill with one failed LS test. On a carni in light armor he still gets a 2+ armor save so he isn't too vulnerable.

You can't combine weapon abilities together like that. Each new combat you'd have to choose which weapon to attack with. If you want to strike first, you have to use the hornet. If you want an extra attack you have to use the hand weapons. If you want the leadership test ability, you have to use realities. You'd also only have a 3+ save as monster mounts don't give an armour bonus like regular mounts.

Ok, first off you can't take two magic weapons. If you are taking a magic weapon, you can't use mundane weapons so taking an extra hand weapon doesn't provide you with any bonus. Just pointing out the rules here, no offense meant.

    Have fun,

I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.

Yea Saurus leaders are not very character killy, honestly wish I could save the 100-170 points I spend on them and make a Saurus Unit champion my general use those points to get more saurus/skink skirmishers. Actually been floating the idea of using Gor-rok due to his shield being a defended obstacle. Wow those Bretonnian Knights x 9 are about to unleash hell...oh wait just those front 3 will

I use an Oldblood with the Revered Blade of Tzunki on a Carni. Hits dead hard.

When I break stride and take an Oldblood, this is the setup I really enjoy using:

    Pseudo-Dragon
    Saurus Oldblood
    Shield
    Hide of the Cold Ones
    Sword of Might
    Charm of the Jaguar Warrior

Gives him solid attacking and defensive power, a great armor save, and backed up by some magic, great maneuverability. Not to mention the fear causing is ace as well.

    Best Oldblood you can make for this is;

    Oldblood

    Scimitar of the sun resplenent
    Maiming shied
    Bane head

    Carnosaur.

His carnosaur does d3 wounds, he himself does 2 wounds to the character you designate. He has 8 attacks at WS6. 2+ armour save. 9 attacks on him once he frenzies!

That's the best old blood you'll get. if you really want a chracter killer, use chakax

How exactly is the Oldblood going to become frenzied?

I believe he gains it when his mount does. Could be wrong though.

Wouldn't the bound 5 jaguar be too difficult to get off without a Slann?
