You can tell by the title that I'm up against wood elves and need help.
Specifically against Treemen.
Apart from magic I don't know how to kill one.
I even tried hitting one in the head with a great weapon equipped Scar vet to no avail.
And before anyone mentions it I don't like salamanders, their shooting is really weird,...
Not dead, just sleeping
First choice is magic. A pit of shades spell will get rid of it pretty quick. Or some fire spells from fire or metal.
Second choice would be a fully ranked up unit of saurus. Treemen will have trouble getting by the static combat resolution. And eventually will fail a stubborn 8 roll. Most wood elf lists don't have a BSB.
Third choice would be the scar-vet with a great weapon. Take the firefly frog so he doesn't get his ward save, and make sure you do have a ward save. Old blood on a cold one with the blade of tzunki and enchanted shield might even be a better choice.
They are really tough though.
I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.
does the treeman have anoyance of netlings? cause if he does no character will have a chance. so i agree with sirkently.. a unit of ranked up saurus or kroxigors. and since your asking for no magic then i cant say anthing magical. so saurus warriors or maybe a unit of skinks or two to try and double tap him since hes a large target they can both get at least 20 shots hurray for poisoN
BUTTTTT if he doesnt take anoyance of netting i would suggest a scar vet on a cold one so he only tests for fear. then burning blade of chotec to get rid of the armor save and ward save. and i think their flammable so the burning blade would do double damage and you could also take the maiming shield to get an extra magic attack.

A treeman with annoyance of nettlings though will be a character, and thus eating a valuable lord slot, which might impose somewhat on the rest of the army. If that happens, avoid him and kill the rest, but it's usually not very likely.
For regular treemen, I second the Scar Vet with Firefly great weapon, it will deny him all saves. Also, I imagine carnosaurs hurting it a fair bit, if you use one.
I'm not a lizardman player myself, play Dogs, but my regular opponents include Lizardmen and Wood Elves, and I do know their lists pretty well.
A Slann with Bane Head and Rule of Burning Iron and Distillation of Molten Silver. Each wound is multiplied to 3!
However once the Treeman is dead lore of metal will be a waste so fire is probably better.
Scar Vet on cold one with Burning Blade is also a good bet.
Apart from that; poison! A single unit of skink skirmishers should get 40 shots off (20 at long range, then 20 more as a stand and shoot) averaging about 1.5 wounds delt. Hit him with one more volley of skinks and suddenly the Treeman has to fear Stegadons, Saurus Cav, Kroxigors, Temple Guard and Scar Vets.
Well considering if your double tapping against a treeman your within 6", and if the treeman charges you, he has a move of six, so no stand and shoot, you will either get to double tap, then he charges you, or you shoot at long range, and then either single or double as he charges you.
you double tap because hes a large target normaly you would hit on 7's at long range and movement if you use multiple shots. but since hes a large target you can move and long range and multiple shoot because you get plus 1 because hes a large target. skinks are the bane of all dragons and demon lords and giants muahahaha
A forest spirit's wardsave can't be used against wounds caused by Magical Attacks.
The Venom of the Firefly Frog gives the wielder a weapon that has magical attacks as well as poisoned.
"I am the architect of fate!"
if you are going down the "tree hunting saurus" route you can either take venom, burning blade, or if you have a lot of points spare the blade of realities for some insta-killing goodness
