i have some lizards painted basically but reasonably well in the classic hawk turquiose/enchanted blue style. im thinking of washing them with the new blue wash to update them abit (better shading etc) will it look alright if i do this or possibly spoil them + make a load more work?
also got some temple guard to paint and i was thinking of a white base coat then blue wash (a few coats) then pick out the scales. anyone know if it'll look ok as i am a realative noob in all aspects here - and im scared of ruining decent models by messing up a paint job
As long as you keep the paint thin, having a test model to try the effects you want wouldn't ruin the model as you can paint over it pretty easily.
As for updating models, simply adding a wash will give an all-over cover, you would need to pick out the highlights afterwards to give it the depth you wanted in the first place
Have a bit of fun and give it a go, very little harm in trying
