From looking at the posted army lists at Librarium Online and similar forums, I have found that many Lizardmen generals field skink cohorts in one of two ways. The first is the 3x5 formation of all skinks and the second a 3x5 formation with a single kroxigor for a slightly increased points cost. I would like to get everybody's opinion on which version they prefer. If you've never fielded either version but have a cohort formation of your own, feel free to include it.
My only skink formation is 1x10. Cheap charge redirector, or throw away unit.
I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.
I don't usually field them. Though if I did it would be in a unit of 10 for redirecting.
Give them a kroxigor. You now have a M6 fear causing unit that can pick off stray groups, redirect, even kill some skirmishers, heck it isnt THAT expensive, so can also be used as a throw-away, againts low-ld armies however...
I like units of 11 with a krox, the krox let's you fill out 5x3 and you got a fast flanker.
