I was wondering how good Cold one Riders are...
Im not sure about there effectiveness cause of the stupidity... Does that make them unpredictable, or doest he cold blooded cope with that? Since they cost <--Enter the point cost for a cold rider here-->! I was wondering what you use them for.
I am thinking about buying a unit Cold Ones, but I need to be sure before I buy them.

I say deffinately give them a go, and yes cold-blooded does make up for the stupidity.
Thanks, +rep for you!
Cold one riders. Well, a unit of 6 with a banner puts you back about the same as a stegadon. I quite like them, but i struggle to get them into my lists. They are cavalry with good staying power, due to high toughness, strength and 2 attacks. I'd definitely give them a go. An if not to your taste they are very easy models to convert into a nice saurus character.
ps a mod will (rightly) moan at you for posting points costs, even if they are wrong
... posting point costs is illegal? crap...
Yeah I get it now, if someone is crazy enough (and has a lot of spare time) he can put together an armybook if everyone posts the point costs.... GWS could have a problem there.
About the edit, sure, its kinda obvious afterwards that is is prohibited to post point costs. So then why keep it up? Anyways thanks for the heads-up, I hadn't thought about it before.
Oh another good reason to get cold one riders, is as andre said, to convert them to scar-vets/oldbloods and give the stubborn list a go, it is really quite effective. You can check it out in the army list section.
I usually run a single cold one unit with no command at min size to save points. With their potential killing power, I just don't see how paying so many points for command is worth it. They do enough damage just by charging, so min sized unit, with no options seems like the best choice. Individually they are pretty costly, being more expensive than DE cold ones (who have less attacks and no cold blood, but a better weapon), but cheaper than Chaos knights (who have the same number of attacks, at same strength, but better IN, weapon, and no stupidity. Running them naked means they maintain their efficiency.
On the posting point costs, GW has a very active legal team, so the rules are meant to protect the forum and the users. IIRC its usually not a problem to post unit costs, but pointing out individual options is. All rather silly IMHO, as more obvious pirating is going on (including full scans, which amount to theft).
Yeah when andre told me it was illegal I could see why, hence me editing my post
About the cold ones, I think ill give them a try. Im a Wood elf player, well thats where my roots are (haha roots, wood ). so I like to play with fast cav that can shoot alot, but this is the opposite... so that should prove a challenge! Do you guys use them as flankers or as hammer/ anvil thingy's? Any tactica?
