Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hey folks. I was curious as to what your opinions on the best wargear for an Oldblood on Carnosaur are
I was thinking of a couple load outs and wanted your thoughts (light armor and shield are a given basically though)
Also do you think he would do well with a cohort of around 6-8 Cold One Riders? Or do you think he'll be fine by himself?
- Revered Blade of Tzunki, Glyph Necklace- I thought about using this set up to basically mess up Chaos Knights and other armor heavy units while the ward save will obviously keep me in the thick longer
- Blade of Realities, Enchanted Shield - Threatens everything without a doubt. Even the most powerful lord or monster has a 1:6 chance of biting the bullet. The shield is obviously just filler points for more defense
- Scimitar of Sun Resplendent, Maiming Shield- 8 Attacks base and 9 when he gains frenzy? That will tear through light infantry like a hot knife through butter.
I like to run mine as:
. . . . Carnosaur
. . . . Light Armour
. . . . Enchanted Shield
. . . . Glyph Necklace
. . . . Burning Blade of chotec
This gives you:
. . . . A 1+ Armour save
. . . . A 5+ Ward
. . . . Attacks are Magical, thus negating ethereals
. . . . Attacks are Flaming, thus negating regeneration
. . . . Attacks are -4 to Armour Saves, meaning not much will get an AS from this guy.
In all, he is great at killing most things on his own or with an escort, usually on his own unless it is a terribly shooty army.
Thanks! Rep for you
Oh, how nice it feels to be rocognised.... i think i might cry :')
I like the blade of realities option. Some people call it overkill to the point of having no defense, but that's the point. You charge in and destroy anything in your way.
I love my tournament stories: Had a tuskagor chariot get charged by this set up. He hit me 4 times and I passed all 4 7+ leadership tests only for him to wound with all 4 attacks and me fail all 4 6+ armor saves. So sad.
Now with skaven being such a power book and popular book at that, this guy can easily charge either the furance or bell and auto kill it (unless you flop ALL your attacks). The unit's no longer unbreakable and doing 6 wounds to the furnace will ensure your victory for that round.
How would the blade of realities auto kill the furnace or bell? The way i understand it is, the special attack would have no effect as the bell/furnace has no leadership value?
Also the blade of realities is best served on a cold one, with the enchanted shield, for a nice -1+AS, i feel.

Well i like the White Lizards thinking il start by saying
But one combo iv ment to try out is a Aura of Quetzl and Sword of Striking combo
+1 to hit, and -1 to be hit along with his WS6
WS 6< hits you on 4+
WS 3-6 hts you on 5+
WS <3 hit you on 6s
While to worst you can hit on is 3+
I also think that the Blade of Realities is overkill if the Oldblood is on a Carnosaur unless you really need the extra punch. A build I've tried has been light armor, spear, maiming shield, Aura of Quetzel, and Venom of the Firefly Frog. This build requires protection from shooting (only 2+ AS) so placing him in a unit of Saurus Calvary with the Sun Standard is a good option. Six poisoned, S6 attacks on the charge (7 after the Carnosaur and he become Frenzied) means this unit will deliver a lot of punishment when it hits. The Carnosaur isn't a large target, so if you don't want to put him in a unit of calvary, you can just use skink screens.

Straight from the new Skaven FAQ:Q. What is the Leadership value of a Screaming
A. They have Ld 0 (-) and so will fail Ld tests
automatically, but as they are Unbreakable, this will
matter only very rarely (spells and magic items that
force Ld tests, etc.).
ahahah white lord when yu said how happy it is to be reconized i laughedd so hard dude
