i was at my local GW playing some games, and when i used a scar vet with the piranha blade, my opponent made the claim that it doesn't kill more people in the unit with its ability. for instance, i charged a unit of skeletons, no challenge, i did 3 wounds, which due to piranha blade, doubles the wounds to a total of 6. does my opponent remove 6 models or 3? if not do i get over kill from the three extra wounds?
You do 3 wounds and get 3 to combat resolution. The blade causes each wound to double, but as the model you are hitting only has one wound, the extra one does nothing.
I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.
like if you hit a monster that got 6W then he was dead by you 3W + that blade but its dont get over to a new model hope you understand
also overkill only takes place during a challenge. As was said earlier you really need to seek out a fight with a character or a unit with multiple wounds to make the weapon effective. Otherwise issue that challenge. One of two things will happen: they refuse and then their guy goes to the back and doesnt fight or they accept then your double wounds will count even on a single wound champion, due to the fact now that you are in a challenge, the overkill can take place.
lol i gonna try that overkill thing on my saurus scar vet in a block of saurus war VS a vary big block of 60 goblins and 1 orc hero or lord (based on size of game)
