Hey all. With the new Fantasy 8th Edition coming out and the game looking up for everyone involved, I was thinking about starting up a Lizardmen army so that I could have an army for each game system in order to give me more flexibility in the games I can play. I began one a few years back, but only got a couple of boxed sets (which may possibly have been misplaced/sold/destroyed in the couple moves since then) and never really finished the army since I knew absolutely no one in my area that played. However, I am going to be moving into downtown Seattle, WA soon and am expecting a much larger gaming crowd.
So, long story short, I was wondering what a good starting place would be for an 8th edition lizardmen army. I imagine a box of Saurus Warriors and a box of skinks, but I'm not sure how much more I should get from there or what some solid, beginner HQ choices are. Also, I will be picking up the small Fantasy rulebook from the boxed set once it is released.
Thanks for the advice!
I would start with the battalion box. Then some more saurus warriors and skinks. Fill out the temple guard with a box, and add a slann, and a priest on an engine of the gods.
That is what I would suggest as the starting point.
Welcome to the jungle,
I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.
I was considering the battalion box but was unsure because it contains Saurus Cavalry which seem to be underwhelming in 8th if you care to listen to the forums.
But in general, thanks for the advice. It sure gives me a place to start if I decide to go through with this army!
im new to lizards myself but after working out the cost of the battalion Vs the individual boxes i save £15 over which is approx a saving of $28-30 give or take a little bit so over all battalions are always best spot to start a list even if u ignore one of the units
