ok so i played my friends VC army the other day. ended as a draw but we came upon an unusual situation that could have turned the match more in either of our favor.
the situation was a multiple combat that looked like this
swswsw sh z= zombie sw=saurus warrior sh = spirit host.
now the diagram doesnt show it but the saurus had 5 in eack rank with a banner
they charged the zombies and the spirit hosts charged into the flank in the next turn.
it was this turns Combat result that caused problem not cover in the BR.
The combat result looked like this
+ 2 for wounds caused by spirit host
+ 1 for wounds caused by zombies
+ 1 for spirit host charge
+ 3 for zombie rank bonus (ranks not shown in diagram)
total of 7 combat res
+0 for charging (charged turn before)
+ 5 for wounds caused against zombies
+ 3 rank bonus
+ 1 for banner
total = 9
so saurus win combat by 2 does that mean that both zombies and spirit host both lose 2 wounds as they are both unstable. or do just the zombies lose 2 wounds. My reasoning is that i think both should lose 2 wounds because the spirit hosts cant be attacked directly and as the saurus beat both the sh + z combat res combined then technicly both lost combat even though no wounds were caused against sh.
Both would lose two wounds. It is covered in the VC book. There is one CR score, and it will affect all units in the combat.
I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.
btw its a cool diagram think i gonna use it one day
