I have a few more questions for friendly games,
Question 1: Are CoC better off smashing into other Cavalry units/Chariots or into infatry units?
Question 2: Is it better to take a Slann in a squad of Temple Guard *magic wise* or an Oldblood with Piranha Blade & Bane Head on a Cold One in a squad of CoC *close combat* to go up against TK's?
Question 3: With my Terradon Riders, are they better in a squad of 3 with a Skink Chief or a squad of 4 with a Skink Chief?
Question 4: Also with the Terradons, can i drop rocks, throw my javelins & charge all in the same turn & how do i properly use drop rocks?
Question 5: What would be a better choice v.s TK's, a Salamander Pack or a Razordon Pack?
Question 6: Is a Stegadon a good choice to take against all armies & if so which one? (Normal, Ancient, Engine)
Question 7: What unit/units do we have that can take down "Large Targets" like Dragons, Giants etc?
All helpful advice is well appreciated. thanx
p.s I'm sorry that there are so many questions *i'm just curious* & also if these questions have been asked before.
Most of your questions are subjective, so have no right or wrong answer. I will give you my opinions.
Question 1: I like to use them to get around the back of the enemy and take out warmachines and missile units. They can also be used against infantry as long as you have another unit with them in combat, preferably warriors.
Question 2: I would rather have the slann. A chief on a terradon can carry the piranha blade/banehead if you want the items. I would think it would be good.
Question 3: I usually run 3 plus the skink chief when I use them. But either configuration is fine.
Question 4: You can't drop rocks and charge on the same turn according to the FAQ. You can drop rocks then throw your javelins. I like to drop rocks on small lightly armoured units like archers.
Question 5: Salamanders are almost always a better option. They can dish out a ton of damage.
Question 6: Monsters are not really a good choice in this edition against anyone.
Question 7: Skinks skirmishers with blow pipes, oldblood with blade of realities, slann.
I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.
Thanx SirKently, i had a 2000pt 3-way last night v.s OK's & TK's (i won by the way) & most of these questions came up & i just needed clarification on them so thanx again.
One thing though,
A stegadon is still worth his points... but you have to be more carefull with them. Charging them head first into a block of enemies isnt the way to go, using them to charge the flanks of combats where warriors are already present is! Also the blowpipes can make shot work of horde units... Or enemy war machines.
