I've recently considered devising a Slann build which is effective even w/o temple guards. The best I've come up with is:
Slann - 450 points
-higher state of consciousness
-loremaster (can't remember focus name)
-Cupped hands of the old ones
-potion of speed
An ethereal, flying Slann who knows all death spells and is practically immune to
miscast. Fly up the side of their battle line, snipe characters and launch a purple sun
through their army. Not only can you easily kill characters, bit can also damage a large chunk of everything else with barely any risk whatsoever.
Whats with the potion of speed. You really need to get the one attack off first? And a Slann can't take an arabyan carpet according to the FAQ.
I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.
Potion of speed to help against purple sun miscast. Didn't know that couldn't take carpet. Why?
Probably because he's sitting on a floating chunk of rock....
