The new TK sephurical stalkers pose a unique challenge for us...
Their shooting attack is death to lizzies. The fact that they can hide underground and pop up behind our lines is tough too. Any tips for dealing with these bad boys?
I don't think they are 'that' good, sure swapping toughness for initiative puts us at a disadvantage to a lot of other races but the effective range of these guys is 15" (8" for transmogrifying gaze, 7" for movement) and even at Initiative 1 they'll be wounding us on 4's, skink skirmishers/ chameleons (effective range of 24"), razordons, terradons should be able to deal with these guys at range, up close their 5+ save with 2 st 5 attacks and one st 4 stomp isn't going to help them for very long against any of our combat units. The 'entombed beneath the sands' rule can be used against us with good effect especially if they pop up near a stegadon or lone slann. But overall for there points cost, which is the same as a kroxigor, and how much they can achieve I doubt we will ever see many of them being used and when they do pop up a typical lizardmen army should be able to deal with them quite well without suffering too much as a result. Sorry it's not exactly tips but I don't think they represent a big enough threat to have to change the way ones army is composed or even counter them for deployment purposes. That's my 2 cents.
I must agree with feralsavage on this one.
They are great against lone models, but a typical LM army doesnt have many of those. And the one we have have a high M and good shooting options.
So they will probably not be seen much, and if seen a group of Skink Skirmishers should be able to take care of them. Thats whats poisoned is for
So for tips:
Keep your army as it is, and when fighting TK. Just take into account that one could pop up somewhere, and place your units accordingly. So take your time positioning the skirmishers and shooters!

i delt with these guys last night.... they popped up right behind my kroxigors and after 27 hits from their gaze shooting attack, i lost all my kroxigors
but managed to pull out the victory in the end
was just crushing when you lose 7 kroxigors in one go... before they even get to do anything
Yea I could imagine, that's just unlucky thats a lot of wounding hits to take out 7 kroxigors. How many stalkers did he have?
congrats on the victory though, did you end up taking out his stalkers?
my slann got dwellers below to go off on his unit of skelies... killed like 56 out of 100! he was ready to quit turn 2! then his stalkers came out and got revenge on my kroxigors so his spirits picked up.
he had 8 Stalkers pop up behind my lines, i managed to put some wounds on one of them, but with 3 wounds and 8 stalkers +unbreakable they are sticking around.
his gaze roll was crazy, NO misfires!! and his roll added up to 30 hits and wounded with 19 of them! i had a unit of 8 kroxigors but by the time those guys popped up i only had 6 and 1 with 2 wounds, so he evaporated them with the 19 wounds.
i ended up killing everything but his Necro Sphinx ( i left it with 1 wound, out of 12 dice i could not roll a 6, so frustrating) the casket (1 wound left due to crumble) and a catapult. i killed his stalkers, giant unit of 100 skelies with like 3 characters in it, and i killed his bone giant, now called necro colossus, and both tomb scorps managed to crumble. i killed his Hirophant in my bottom of the turn 3, so there was a few crumble rolls.
little fyi, the crumble doesnt really affect the Tomb kings army TOO much, most models have a fairly high LD and the animated construct rule so they lose less, and if he had still had his BSB... tomb kings are good army, and they look really fun to play.
