The lizardmen have a short list of magical weapons at their disposal. What do you think of them? Which ones do you use? Which ones do you recommend?
Here's my opinion:
First up, the sword of the hornet is a must. The relatively low price for the ability to cut down the opponents mighty hero first is invaluable. Especially against those units with the killing blow ability.
Burning Blade of Chotec is just useless. Take a great weapon instead for only a fraction of the price.
Sword of battle and its big brother Scimitar of the sun resplendent are useful, many attacks equals lots of wounds. Could be nice to fit on a scar-vet leading a Cavalry unit. The additional maiming should help turn the first turn in your favour, almost ensuring that you'll run them over.
Blade of revered Tzunki is a bit pricey, good against heavy armour troops but pretty overkill against anything else. Unless the enemy is wearing a lot of heavy armour, don't bother.
Piranaha blade? Is it worth it? It would make a single wound fatal to every hero with only two wounds( mages tend to have that or less)
Sword of striking. Change a 4+ into a 3+ or 3+ into 2+....kinda hard to decide. Really,really worth it?
PS. Yes, I included some standard magical weapons as well. They frequently show up in my armylists and I'd like your opinion on them.
i dont know the name but my friend uses the skink only blade that gives killing blow
he is a scout so starts close and runs in and with mark of old ones can pretty much always kill off ur general or good characters u send in first

Im not particularly experienced with equipping saurus heros, but I think anything that gives them more attacks is great with their S5.
I like using a skink hero with the bane head and the staff of the lost sun to eliminate lonesome heros and magic users.
there was a funny happening once when I bane headed the enemies giant, which I know isnt allowed but the opponent let me for a laugh. the skink ran up, wounded the giant, got charged by the giant the next turn, but failed his terror test and ended up running around in circles for the rest of the game as he ran far enough away to rally but then kept failing the terror test again and again. I named him Djaq the Giant Fleer after that game,the first of my skink heroes to get a name

I usually go for the great weapon and the give him the item which increases his movement to 9" giving him 5 strength 7 attacks on the charge nice little chariot killer.
However i am thinking about changing him around and giving him the maiming shield.
For scar-vets I like it kind of cheap. A great weapon, LA, shield and the firefly venom. Cheap and hardhitting.
I like the hornet sword instead of a great weapon too. But only if he's in a large saurus unit.
I always take the venom. And ofcourse 1 or more nice spawnings.
