ok a saurus has an initiative on 1.....how do you deal with that??? i mean you always strike last cept on the charge but how do they possibly stay alive...and i thought they were made to fight not stand there then take a swing after about 10 minuets...!!!!
P.S. Blood angels rule, the anger lets us ignore wounds ...hehehe
They also have T4, which goes a long way towards letting them survive.
You can give them the spawning of Quetzl, which improves their armor save by 1 - which, combined with shield & hw and scaly skin, isn't that bad.
They have more attacks per model than most other army's basic infantry, so even if you lose half of your front rank before I1 comes around, you can still inflict a lot of damage.
If you find yourself unable to get the charge, you could give them spears instead - they get a lower armor save, but you have two ranks of Saurus attacking back.
There's only one way you can deal with it, once the saurus are in the fight, hope their toughness and armour keep them alive long enough for them to get around to making their attacks! There's nothing else you can do, they have some of the worst initiative in the game, they're down their with Trolls, Dwarfs and Zombies in the quick-thinking department!

So even I 1 sarus go first.
I think thr thing is sarus are a bit slow and dim witted(being cold blooded and all that), the skinks are the faster people in the army.
so for the I 1 even if you lose a much of sarus u are cold blooded so wyou will rarly flee.

Hey, it keeps my dwarf friend from using Great Weapons on his warriors. Im not complaining ^_^ .
