Starting anew-september 22 2005
move this request to the "thinking of starting lizardmen...?" thread of the forum
Kroxigors aren't a neccecity, sure they are very good and versatile but I seriously suggest just getting a unit of your favorite special or rare choice (try to avoid chameleon skinks) be it salamanders, stegadon, terradons, kroxigors or whatever.
In adition to this and the battallion and scar veteran (it really doesn't matter whether he is mounted or not, in fact i'd say put him on fut if you want my opinion)
get 1 or 2 skink priests, you'll need them for magical defence and they're actually quite good at killing stuff too, recently I killed an entire unit of siver helms ( with 1 spell. (killed 3 and the rest panicked)
And then, when you want to expand furthur, you'll probably have a good idea what you want in your army from your battles. Eg: you might think, "gee, if I had a unit of terradons there that mortar wouldn't have killed all my saurus" or "If I took some Kroxigors, that unit of chaos knights would never have broken my saurus cavalry" But as a guideline, get another box of saurus and another special or rare choce with a different role to your first (not including saurus cav because they come in the box) like if you took salamanders or terradons as your first choice you might want to take some kroxigors or a stegadon and vica versa. Again I say stay away from chameleon skinks, it is not that they are bad, just because they are so easy to kill its hard to use them and keep them alive and since your just starting out maybe its a bad idea. If you like your your ordinary skinks perform and want a superior version of them, then by all means, go for it, buy some chameleon skinks.
I hope I helped, as that was the intention of this post.
