I'm a noob as you can see, and i haven't been playing the game long.
I was wondering how many skinks you should have in a scouting unit, i like to give some of my skinks the scouting ability as its fun to harass the enemy early with poisoned attacks. i want to take enough so that they dont die in one turn, but not so many that its difficult to deploy them out of sight.
Any help would be helpful:s:s
i think its best to take them in units of ten or so, but the # of units you take is up to u but depends somewhat on how many points ur playing
Thanks, that's about the size i usually play them.
As for the non scouting skinks i like to take them in units of 24-30, but like you say, the amount of units i take will depend on the points of the army. In 2000 points i'm going to take about a hundred, that should be enough!
you don't need 100 skinks. that's just pointless. the enemy will concentrate on them because they will be a fourth of your army. he will wipe them out VERY fast if he puts his mind to it.
100 skinks are only 600-700 points depending on how many are scouts, whats wrong with spending 600 points on your core choices? Considering I'm not taking any saurus warriors.
100 skinks is also a lot of poison! I'm not really bothered if my opponent kills all my skinks, i've still got the other 75% of my army to hit him with.
How many skinks would you recommend in 2000pts, and to refer to my original questions, how many would you take as scouts?
Thanks for ya help!
How many Skinks you take is up to you. Lizardmen have legion ways to be played. At least take some 30 Skinks in a 2k army as a minimum. From there you can increase the number as fits your theme, tactics and liking.
If you want as many Skinks as that, may I advise to take a look at the Red Host and the Southlands armies? They offer a lot of special options to people fond of Skinks.
