Has anyone had any luck trying to do this? or has this even been attempted?
I think Games Workshop was moving in the right direction when they made plastic pegasus knights, now if only they'd make other plastic flyers. I've hated metal flyers on the flying bases ever since second edition 40k with the tyranid gargoyles. So, i'm asking for advice on making a suitable plastic conversion to approximate the terradon.
I think a skink on one of the new Lizardmen cold ones might work with enough cutting and greenstuffing. I'm hoping that someone has made plastic/gs minis of the terradons before me and can give me some advice.
Now, my other problem: Jungle Swarms
5 dollars a base is not something i'd like to do, considering there's only one unit per army, it doesn't seem so bad, but i'd rather have them cheaper. So has anyone done this? I could probably make an entire serpentine base out of greenstuff, but it probably wouldn't be tournament legal due to not being 50 percent Games Workshop (unless they count the base itself)
Anyone else find out what to do with jungle swarms? or do i need to bite the bullet and buy fourty or fifty dollars worth of bases?
I don't like jungle swarms. the reason is very simple, a better WAY to accomplish that tactic is to simply keep a group of skinks right in front of whatever it is, and then, if they don't all die, you move them PAST the enemy, squeezing in between the cracks instead of charging. then if the enemy attacks them, the hard hitting unit that you have behind them will get the charge, and if he doesn't attack them then you have a group of skinks with a flank protected by the enemy in a good firing position, and they can also make a rear charge against the enemy if he charges your hard hitting unit.
that tacitc works SOOOO much better that there is no reason to ever tak jungle swarms
what about tehenhauin? i'd rather him be protected by a unit, though i admit i am very new to warhammer fantasy (i've only played one game, in an older edition). But to keep him from being targeted by spells and such, wouldn't it be better to stick him in a unit of jungle swarms?
A good way to make a jungle swarm is to take the base, use the snakes from the plastic cold one sprue and use greenstuff to make your own snakes, there ya go, tournament legal isn't it?
yeah just use the snakes from the Cold One Riders sprue, although it would fill up two swarm bases
Welcome to the Jungle...well, maybe a not so welcome jungle

thanks guys, now hopefully i can figure out how to make terradons just as easily, i've got a post in the conversion section that is solely about making plastic models on things with flying bases. not having too much luck...
