    An overpowered slann?

    Here's a question i asked myself the other day;

How many extra points would you be willing to pay for the slann if he could CHOOSE his spells?

i reckon i'd pay a hundred extra points, you could pretty much gear the slann against whatever army you were playing.

    What do people think?

    Ciao

    30 points for Seer Honour?

No, I simply wouldn't allow that. Unless the Slann cost like a million points, it'd be so friggin' BROKEN...

LOL, it was the high elf seer honour which gave me idea in the first place!

I reckon that if it was extended to the slann it would be more than 30 points becuase he has a lot more spells to choose from plus they are awesome at casting them as well!

Well, all HE magic items are 5 pts cheaper, so it would be 35. Plus an extra mod because the Slann is so frickin' powerful anyhow I reckon it'd be in the range of 45-50 pts.
If I had a 2nd Generation Slann I'd certainly consider it...

I'd probably pay about 100 points. But think of how broken that would be. You could choose the spell from Lore of Light that regenrates ALL wounds! maybe on a regular caster it isn't so great. But Imagine taking out 5 wounds on a T6 model, and then having it just regenerate them all back! You wouldn't die.

Light. Lore of Light. The spell is Healing Hand.

Life is used to blast stuff apart with toothpicks and chips of stone.

To even it out, you could make it that if you take the ability to choose your spells that you have to stick to the same lore....how much would you pay for that? He gains an ability but loses (a rather large) one too.....:shifty:
I would pay 40pts. Or more.

I wouldn't pay anything for that. Nor would I ever take it. With 4 spells he is probably going to get the spell you want anyway,

That is true, but then again, this is often the case with High Elf mages, and they take them....It is just that a Slaan is much more powerful as casting than any other mages (well...normal mages. Mages like me are much better. I get +134 to all casting and +2 to all dispel rolls. And I generate 1 million power dice all by myself. And I can fly. And I am so invisible (twice as much as the invisible man) that all people shooting at me get -37 to hit. I cause Horror. That means if any unit fails a leadership test at -10 to their leadership, D6 units within 2" of them take a test too....and the cycle continues until a unit either passes the test or there is no unit within 2" of the fleeing unit. And they can't rally. Oh, and I know 13 spells too. 5 more than Kirby --> <('-'<)......).
Anyway.....maybe you are right, it would suck to lose the ability to choose from different lores. What about paying for the ability to only be able to choose form a specific lore of your choice, but you can still roll for spells on the other too?

Yeah, I agree with Caesar there. Especially if you have the plaque of tepok, if you don't get the spell you want then, I think the dice gods are tryn to tell you somethin.

About the ability to pick spells, way 2 over powered and pretty mcuh every1 would use it. It would be ridiculous in anything but a friendly game.
