Ok, we've all discussed the topic of Kroxigors vs. SoC to death, and personally that dead horse is now a bloody pulp.
The questions I'd like to pose to our esteemed community are now this:
1.) Comparing the two choices of Saurus Cavalry and Terradons, which of the two are the more viable choice for damage output?
2.) What point range of game (ex. 2000-2999) would you gain to benefit the most from either of these two units?
1. well..... you cant really answer to that. the terradons are much different than the CoR. you cant really use the terradons for just charging frenzied towards the enemy. the CoR are really hard hitting at this point (2 str 5 attacks each.. auch  ). but they cant be used for mage/warmachine hunting. and then they can have a magic standard. thats just too nasty!
2. you could use them both in a 1000-99999 list. i wouldnt use a unit of CoR in a smaller list though. mabe some terradon, but not CoR.
if anyone helps you with an army list or rules/fluff , then give them some rep
Terradons are cool because you can charge a unit with a mage in it, direct as many attacks on the mage as possible, hopefully killing it. You'll lose the combat but because of their hit and run they just p*** off anyway
Of course you can't draw a direct comparison between the two, but what I'm getting at is damage output. Everything being equal and all abilities thrown into the pot, which could in theory do the most damage?Originally Posted by ^Shadow-Stalker
Barring that the saurus charge, they have the same number of attacks at the same strength as the terradon with one higher WS. Of course if they do charge, the strength of the attacks of the saurus go up from 4 to 5 with the spears.
The terradons can have the capability to cause a panic test in a unit every turn from charging into it's flank or rear.
Now, how much damage is going to be lost if the saurus become stupid? Is the psychology of the saurus a big enough detriment to people for the terradons to be chosen instead?Hmm, no SoC in less than 1k. Very interesting. :yes:2. you could use them both in a 1000-99999 list. i wouldnt use a unit of CoR in a smaller list though. mabe some terradon, but not CoR.
And without a doubt the terradons can make a mess of mages, heh.
Well this debate is bound to end up the way the scor vs krox debate. The rolls are too varied(especially with respect to scor vs terradons) to ever make a fair comparison. SCORs are hard hitting fear causers where terradons are more fragile war-machine/mage hunters. Extremely different rolls so one is not going to win over the other. It all depends on your list and what army you will be facing whether you choose SCOR or terradons.
