Welcome to Librarium Online!
I like lizardmen but I have been depressed lately. I am thinking of starting them and I am picking up the batallion box soon along with another box of sarus and skinks plus 3 krox's and some other things. But I was looking and we have crap for special characters! Whats up with that!
High elves have the coolest, a mage with unlimited range and a warrior who is tough as hell with a 2+ ward during last wound, dies, then comes back with another wound with 2 ward.
Orcs... so many!
And it keeps going on. Why is that! *Sighs* are any of the special characters worth taking?
I don't think our special characters are that bad at all. As a matter of fact I love Lord Kroak. The whole dead corpse is more powerfull than anything your oponent can bring to the table is hilarious (I don't mean literally, other races have great mages) .
Kroq-Gaar's army idea is also really cool. Lots of fast, hard-hitting units running around.
All of this being said, I don't believe either is worth thier points in a 2000 pt. battle. They would be very fun to use tho. Once you get up in points, they may be worth it but I have absolutely no experiance there.
In tournaments you can't use special characters anyway so i rarely look at them.
But yeah i can't see myself ever using the LM ones, now the dwarf ones on the other hand...
In this 2006-07 Tournament Season Special Characters taken from the official army books that can be used without an opponents consent (all in fantasy i think) are allowed to be used.
Visit this link for a crappy reason from GW:
I personally think that Lord Kroak is the best mage in the game. Try fielding Lord Mazdamundi found in White Dwarf 293 (Aus) and also Nakai is fun cause he is a Kroxigor special character
he is found here http://oz.games-workshop.com/games/w...ters/nakai.htm
Well suck me sideways, you're right! Like you though i'm still not convinced they should be used, as i still feel some of them *are* overpowered (not the LM ones though)Originally Posted by domread
I love the mounted characters. The high elves have the coolest ones! I would love a lizarman skink hero or something! I hope they come up with a few good ones.
Yea theres been a few 'why?' threads on the official gw forums. Should make for an interesting tournament.Originally Posted by Stonehambey
There are a few gamewinners out there like the green knight for example. Will have to wait and see i guess.
Skink hero? I believe that Tehenhauin is in the Lustria book. :yes:Originally Posted by Cheetahfurry

Yeah, at 2k pts, I don't think either of the chars in the core Rulebook are worth it for competitive play (Kroak chews up over half your pts alone and the Kroq-Gar requires you to take a unit of the unimpressive Saurus Cavalry).
However, prob around the 2,500pt level, they might be worth fielding. You could keep Kroak way in the back and just use skinks to cast your spells. The sheer number of Power dice he can use is sickening. 6 spells AND the Drain Magic spell AND the Ruination of Cities. Considering you can just cast your 2nd Sign spell first there is a decent chance you can get that off with Irrest Force. Yeah, ow.
I haven't fielded him yet but hope to do so soon. I might even do it at a 2,000pt fun game to see how effective he really is.
