Do most people put thier skink priests on thier own or in a unit of jav skinks.
On their own, there is no reason what so ever to put a skink priest in a javaline skink unit.
Surely being in a unit offers a little better protection no?Originally Posted by asianavatar

The only beef i have with puting a skink on a steg is that you can't fire the giant bow and if the skink dies (which they tend to do) the steg must take a monster reaction test which is no garuntee
I found out very quick a unit of jav skinks as an escort until my priest can find apropriate cover is very usefull.
See the story is very funny. In one of my first games I set up my priest behind a unit of jav skinks. So my "friend", using his cannon, shot at this unit so that if the ball bounced, it would hit the priest (I hate cannon sniping, but if we had a cannon, I'd probably do it). Well it bounced and hit the priest. This being like my second game I was like he's dead right? Then my friend told me he was unless he rolled a one... which he did. So basically my skink priest caught a cannon ball. I thought it was hilarious then made him join the unit so he got the Look out Sir! bonus.
So until you can get him in woods, or behind some physical cover, using a unit of skinks as an escort is very usefull.
well a skink on a steg doesnt run easily so you got his dispel scrolls and dice, plus a good save and impact hits from the steg your priest can acctually charge :w00t: or hold out in combat  . I play him this way.. ow is only strenght 5 so.. i dont play with a slann and only have 1 priest thats why i put him on the steg for durabilty and reliance.
