in 7th Ed this will be a scary unit
Saurus Oldblood with BSoQ,I,So Scimitar of Sun Resplendent riding Carnosaur with LA and S in a unit with 5 Cold one Riders Full.
Which is about 624 points.
But it gives out 40 Attacks in total 10 Cold One Attacks 16 Cold One Rider Attacks 5 Carnosaur attacks and 9 Old Blood Attacks on the charge with Frenzy. It could slaughter alot.
The Old Ones have not forgotten me!
yeah, but it's a massive point sink, if I had any swarms they'd be stuck on that thing immediatly, then I'd just flank charge and rear charge all over the place because it'll be what, a third of your entire army?
I tend to dislike the ultra powered unit idea, because it just limits the number of threats your opponent has to deal with.
on the other hand, if it did get a charge on one of your enemy's expensive units, the result could be very nice for you!
IMO too much of a gamble
I agree: you'll either win spectacularly or lose spectacularly. Such killer units are not my taste, because it's too much invested in one unit, which makes it easy for your opponent.
Hmmm, but with the new swarm rules, they wont last long; and that's if you take a ton of them. Taking 3 or so bases is now totally uselessif I had any swarms they'd be stuck on that thing immediatly,
Which is why I'll be leaving swarms at home in 7th edition...
I know you love swarms Stonehambey but I don't think that they'll be worth it anymore.

I totally agree with you Hex.Originally Posted by Hex
I'll be leaving them at home now as well, but i think that the undead will be fielding them a lot more now=P
Although VC players should be fielding them already^_^
why would the undead use them more, are they unnaffected by the new rules somehow?
Yes, Swarms will now work similar to undead. AKA they will take wounds if they lose combat. But since undead player are used to it it will be fine.Originally Posted by tojo

Well considering how undead swarms are priced for 6th edition , I would think they priced them cheaper than other swarms because they crumbled, but now that all swarms crumble undead just have cheaper swarms now.
whoa, nice to be back, the forum has changed a lot in topics,
i dunno about which of the two types of kitted out oldbloods i'd use but i would say both!, because one has unit killing power and the other character hunting just come up with two lists that could fit one type in each and, depending on your opponent, pick the list you prefer and kick butt!
Note: do not use in tourneys, it will be constidered cheating
all the changes, hey stonehambey when did you become moderator? things have changed indeed...
