Welcome to Librarium Online!
I have a question.I have a small list going so far of mainly assault units. I decided I needed some long range firepower. But the skink blowpipes are not ranged enough.
My brother said I could always include a unit of dogs of war. What units would be good for this job.I was thinking leadbelchers or crossbowmen. But, I'm open to all opinions.
salamanders, they have no move and shoot penalty so their effective range increases.
Salamanders are sick in groups of three :x Definitely a sound choice, much better than anything the DoW have to offer. Unless you really need to deal with something big, in which case you could always go for the cannon.
Plus the Slann has a ****load of ranged firepower, with the amount of spells he throws at the enemy.
That is true, besides which the leadbelchers only have a limited range anyways and then they take a turn remaining stationary to reload, talk about a one shot wonder!!Salamanders are sick in groups of three Definitely a sound choice, much better than anything the DoW have to offer. The cannon is a relatively cheap choice and does wonders against big, nasty or multi-wound targets. The one downside being that it is still a guess range weapon and a misfire could destroy the entire thing. At least with salamanders the effects of a *misfire* are less severe as they have a smaller chance of going totally pear shaped!Unless you really need to deal with something big, in which case you could always go for the cannon. In smaller battles even skink priests are good at this as the lore of heavens has some spells that totally ignore range and some that ignore armour saves altogether, i would follow Stonehambey's advice and go for the unit of 3 salamanders,Plus the Slann has a ****load of ranged firepower, with the amount of spells he throws at the enemy.
Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that, who cares, your a mile away and you have his shoes!!
