i was lookin though the lizardmen army book and thought up this setup for an oldblood, but im not sure if its legal...
Blade of Revered Tzunki - (+1 strength, no armor saves allowed)
The Maiming Shield - (+1 attack, +1 armor save)
Spawning of Quetzl - (+1 Scaly skin)
Spawning of Tlazcotl - (Immune to psycolgy)
Spawning of Itzl - (May ride Cold One/Carnosaur)
Cold One - Fear, Stupidity, Thick Skinned (+2 armor save)
this would give the oldblood a 0+ armor save, 6S, 6A w/ no armor saves allowed (an additional 1 S4 attack from the Cold One), immune to psycology, and a cold one mount. are you allowed to give two shields? that was the big question i had, but is there anything that would make it illegel? wat do you think?
eah aminming shiled dosen't get hte bonus from the blade so thats at s5 and armour allowed and no u cant have 2 shileds (he ain't got 3 arms.)

Yeah,no two sheilds. Even still,he has a 1+ armour save. Also,there isnt even such thing as a 0+ armour save,1+ is the absolute max you are legally allowed to have. The maiming sheild isnt that great,with the simitar of the resplendant sun it would be alright,giving a total of 8 S5 attacks,but still. Best to give him aura of quetzl blade of revered tsiktsu and some nice spawn markings.
Shields do not fit on tails.
1+ is as low as you go.
Wise move on the blade.
Immune to psychology might be good considering how you've beefed up this guy enough already.
Why not the carnosaur?

The Oldblood sounds pretty good, he seems to have most angles covered although I would be inclined to mount him on a carnosaur. The extra power in combat will be a big boost.Actually your wrong, in the BRB is says that saves are capable of going over 1+ BUT a roll of 1 will always count as failed. Basically he's save aginst S3 or S4 attacks, so he will get his great save against these and also he will get a better save against high S weapons.Admir Posted on Feb 23 2004, 01:42

If that was true,hits against archon need to be S7 or above just to get his save to a 2+. Sorry,1+ is maximum,probably why if you look every 1+ armour save magic armour says it cannot be improved. But anyways,i find the maiming sheild to suck unless its part of a big massive attacks combo. I'd much rather get a ward save on my expensive lord than an extra S5 attack.
1+ is in no way the max. Elven Prince on Barded Steed with HArmour, Enchanted Shield and Helm of Fortune is 5+ for the bared horse, 3+ for barded horse and HArmour. 1+ for barded horse, HArmour and Enchanted Shield, and 0+ for the lot of it. It can VERY well go below 1+.
Actually to get his save to 2+ you would need S5 (-2 armour mod), a S7 against a 1+ save would make it 5+. He doesn't count his steed as part of his armour save and so he only gets the 1+ save, unless otherwise stated.Amroth Posted on Mar 2 2004, 22:13

You can get over 1+ as the BRB says, but the magic armour will say it can't be made over then IT can't not that it's impossible to. Hell a Empire Grand Master can if you give him the enchanted shield (FPA, ES, Barded steed), surely you knew this right? How could you not, everyone has been using these combos for ages.
you cant give your characters 2 magic armours.. although it is a shield and a helm it is stated in the rulebook that YOU CANT HAVE 2 MAGIC ARMOURS!!!
but yes you can go below 1+
plate armour, barded horse enchanted shield.. there you go 0+ but a roll of 1 will always fail..
