So my client for the bretonnian army loves the progress so much he is adding a full battalion box to his order. Until that arrives I have put that on hold and am working on a personal project. I am finally starting a dark angels army that I have been wanting to do for a long time now. So far I have 15 tactical marines, 5 terminators, 5 veterans, a dreadnaught and a captain. All of them are fully magnetised for storage and for different weapon options. I have just orders a battalion, rhino, predator, landraider crusader, devastator squad and a company master.

In other new I am also going to be, assembling, magnetising and painting up an ork army from black reach. These will be something to work on after I finish client work, however if anyone would like to have these as a project just let me know a colour scheme and a painting level that you desire ( 1-4 with level 2 being table top standard ) and I will work a quote out for you and get to work in no time !

There will be a few creases to iron out but I think it would be quite a nice little scheme aslong as there are no issues dealing with the claimed model condition differing from the actual condition.
I think that is a very cool and unique idea, Ryoko. Few commissioning sites do things like that, and few even do miniature trading at all. What I would suggest is to define model conditions on your website; for example, define what "fair" means to you, what "poor" means to you, what "good" means to you, etc. Come up with ground rules, such as "once I have received your models, I will send you a receipt with the quality of the models, based on the condition scale on my website" etc., and actually email them a receipt/invoice kind of thing with what each model was worth. I would do condition as a rate times the base cost of a model; for example, a mint condition model (i.e., on sprues) could spring 90% of the cost of the model new from the store you usually buy it from (since those stores typically have discounts as well, don't base it off of GW prices) and poor condition models could be 35% or something.

Great idea, and good luck with it!

Appreciate the input and ideas I really do ! As I said I haven't dealt with the exact figures of it yet because I would need to look at how I would profit off of it. Maybe by selling off scrap yard lots so that people can trade in things and get a little bit of money for something they never intend on using and then in turn, somebody else who sees these as desirable can pick them up at a cheaper price that RRP and save themselves a little aswell. Still brainstorming but I do think the future of commissioned painting is making it more affordable and saving clients money, the hobby can be expensive enough regardless and with the coming price increases it will only get worse I fear.

I just have some time at the moment waiting for my client to drop off the additional troops for his project hehe, but in a day I managed to fully magnetise and assemble my 5 terminators + veterans, Dreadnaught, captain and 15 tactical marines. As far as painting goes the dread, 5 tacticals and my terminators are all about table top standard minus the bases ^.^ Its beautiful doing what you love every day !

Tried that line with the wife............ doesn't work too well. If I do two colours on a unit in one day I'm happy......... getting all that done in one day is bonkers.

I feel for you ! I dread what marriage would do to me in this instant aswell, but money always fixes female based issues I have found. I'm sure if I get this project where I want it to be the future wife will have no problems with me playing with my toys !

So my whole army for 40k is going to be magnetised, for many reasons, it provides better storage, interchangable weapons for new lists ( My terminators are going to be kitted with changable lightning claws once they arrive in the post ), removable vehical weapons when they are destroyed etc... less chance of breakages when mishaps occur ( if i drop my models yes it will smash to pieces, but it wont be broken ) and most of all, BECAUSE IT IS COOL AND YOU CAN RESTANCE YOUR MODELS ALL THE TIME! not to mention you can upgrade parts, for example when I get round to it all of my tactical marines will be getting dark angel back packs.

So here you are ( ignore the painting I only got them this morning in the post ! ) nice clean magnet work ! IMG_0193.jpgIMG_0194.jpg
