Rabbit asked me in another thread if I could make a step by step on how I convert the Ogre heads for my Dreads. One extremely inspirational-less night I thought it to be a good quest. One thing led to another though, so once I've started working on it I just couldn't stop. So here I go again another side project while waiting for the Watereffect for my Dread to arrive ![]() I'll begin with the face though. I got a box of Ogre Bullies dead cheap on a fleemarket, two of the models were already done. I picked one of them up and broke his hands and gut-plate off. Then I picked my trusty old knife up and began. The first thing I did was to cut his ears off. ![]() Once they were gone I took both his nose and the mouth. I tried to stay with the lines given by the Ogre's mouth/moustache, but I might have strayed a bit. Then I also thinned his cheeks a bit to make him look more like SwampThing than an Ogre. ![]() This is basically all the ctting I do, next I'm starting with the Greenstuff. I know I keep on roaring about how important it is to use a small amount of this putty, but I thought I might show you just how small an amount I generally use. It should be noted however that this is quite a major filling, so those blobs are far bigger than the ones I use for detail-work. ![]() Those two small blobs are the complete cheeks, the chin and the lips. I just flattened the GS out, quite crudely with my fingers into three...flat blobs really. Then I put one on each cheek and one where the lowercheek should be. ![]() And from the side he looked something like this. ![]() Th enext step was to smoothen the GS out a bit, I used my GW sculptingtool and my fingers. It can be quite tricky to work with such thin lyers when there is nothing to support the back side, so it is clever to put something there. I held a pencil with my third hand...no I'm only kidding. I don't have three hands, who do you think I am? Karmoon? I just put the model in a huge blob of BlueTac and held the pencil with my left hand while smoothening the cheek with the sculpting tool. ![]() ![]() This was where I realised his cheeks were looking a bit flat, so I rolled out two thin saussages of GS, folded them and put them right on. Then I smoothened it with the ST again, trying to get some nice wrinkles. ![]() Now that I've gotten this far on him, I just couldn't quite. My first thought was to make a Great Unclean One of him. But I was not really satisfied with how he turned out. There were more to add I felt. So then I went all out on the Daemon Prince road. Sure, Nurgle already have a DP-model and it's a good looking piece, but I just wanted to do my own. So I gave him a right hand, added some chain and a SpaceMarine Helmet to use as a flail of sorts. The left lowerarm will be mechanical, I know it might look just like a Dreadnought leg at the moment, but I will try to build a hand and add some cables. I've begun to work on a bionical eye, just course I love them. Some armour might be needed to, just for WYSIWG reasons if nothing else, and of course some more of those Norgloid details, blisters, eyes, wounds...and general pain-like features. Oh, and I built a lowerbody too, using my own slug-sketches as a basis. It is a really simple conversion that. I just folded some aluminium foil (found this in a kitchen drawer) and covered it with thin plates of GS, then I textured it to look snail-like. I'll be adding detail to this part to later. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Oh, and a backpack, He'll get a backpack. Don't leave home without them.

Hey, what do you know, I just found my new avatar! ![]() Andusciassus, fine work, my friend. Exactly what I was hoping for. I'm glad to know how you made the face fat. Everything else I've pretty much done before, but the quadruple chin thingy giving me trouble. At any rate, thanks again. I look forward to seeing the next stages of this model. ;Y

The fatification of the face (not really shown in this thread) is basiclly just about leaving some empty space under the chin and fill it up with greenstuff-sausages (quite thick in the middle). But I'm glad if you found something interesting here any way Rabbit. But now it's time for an update. I've worked on the details a bit more, the claw is getting close to finished and I've added a shoulderpad and some generally 40k-ish looking bits and bobs. I'm still not 100% sure on how he'll look finished, but I thik I'm gettig closer and closer though ![]() As I've worked on him, a story or fluff...character? has begun evolving inside my sweet little head. I see him as some sort of long lost anti-Apothecary so I've added some details from the Loyalist backpack. As always, the pics are crappy but I'm still quite satisfied. ![]() When you stand in front of him, this is what you'll see. His bigger and getting meaner all the time ![]() He has a tube going from the backpack, through his shoulder and in through the cheek, it'll end up in his mouth as some kind of filter-looking thing. The Shoulderpad is rather smooth and clean now, but later I'll add some characteristicly Nurgloid details to it... blisters and maybe some maggots or eyes. ![]() and here comes a close up on the claw. ![]() It'll be attached through some small tubes to a couple of testtubes on the backpack. Not really sure why, but it looks as if there is a point to it when you see the whole thing, and that's quite good I reckon. Here comes the backpack, and you can see the testtubes down on the side. ![]() Here's the other side of the backpack, Oh, and I must ask forgiveness for the big blobs of bluetac -they are only there while it's a WIP. ![]() I'm also thinking about adding this cleaver to the model, as I always thought it to be quite a crude instrument for any Doctor to use, but in the same time I'm a bit dubious as I fear he'll look quite busy... GAh! Finally a closeup on the tubing going from the backpack through various parts of his body. ![]() That's it for now.

The NDP is going wonderfully Andusciassus... I loved the backpack from bits and plasticard and GS... The claw is wonderful but I would like bigger claws there! I haven't really understood the idea of the pipe on the back and all... but I think I will see it!
