It's a knot, a bit Gordian, but none the less a knot ![]() What you (Tekore) did here is really important and one of the big steps (for man, never mind mankind when it comes to modeling-issues) in modelling. If you feel you can't make it in GS- use some other medium. I know I've had my fair share of drawbacks (flat surfaces...yukk) and then I just stopped for a while, I used PlastiCard instead. Good on you

Well, I'm done with it, and should have pics up at some point, but my camera batteries need recharging, so I hope to have it up soon. It goes into a modeling competition tomorrow during a tournament along with another one of my other guys, so hopefully it wins something for being pretty. Tekore |

Sorry for the delay, I couldn't get the camera batteries working, but I wanted to put up some finished pictures. The base did not win anything, but I am still proud of it as my first non-model work. Here is the finished picture, although I still plan on going back to tool around with (such as adding smaller rocks around the boulders) in the future. I'm just putting direct links so that people can see the larger photo, as requested. http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/c...nishedBase.jpg Also, I entered a small converted model that I had also done, and it came in second in a painting contest, which was nice. Here are a couple pictures of that model. http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/c...re/Flamer1.jpg http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/c...re/Flamer2.jpg Also, I just wanted to thank everyone again for all of their help, especially the extensive ideas and critiques from Andu. All of this really helped the project along and helped me do a better job. Next up, I'll be working on finishing up my SM army and working on the Tale of Painters project with a fantasy Brettonian army that I've had sitting in boxes for a good long time. I hope to put a thread together for that, and look forward to hearing from all of you over there! Tekore |

Congrats on the second place mate ![]() I'm glad you've found my advice useful and that you finished the piece. I'll be entering a Bretonnian army in the Tale of Painters too...maybe, if I can resist the craving for Chaos that always is present. My knights might well fall to some evil Deity before the tale has reached it's end. The pics you've shared on the SpaceMarine are a bit blurry, have you read the fantastic "how to take pics"-thing -t wrote a while back? It's a very nice little article, and you can find a link to it in his Sig. Or I might just as well give you the linkie *HERE* Now, don't stop converting stuff and make sure to post pics. Looking forward on the next thread

I'll take a look at that thread again, think I read it once, but I was in a bit of a hurry to snap those pictures this morning. Looking forward to dueling Brets with ya (although I'm also looking forward to just using a non-blue paint job on something, and to eventually making my SM army into pre-heresy Night Lords). Tekore |

Congrats on the second place with the Marine although truly the pics are a bit blurry... hope to see more on your work! And pre-heresy armies color schemes are best... even though the NL are better as Chaos serving Marines the pre-heresy color scheme rocks... can't wait to see more... (Andy leave the kid be off with his pre-heresy Marines or I will send the Inquisition...)

Nice work on the marines =) I remember my first conversion... Inspired by a similar reason, my chaos lord killed 42 orks in one game, hence i modeled an ork head hangin off his belt =) Thanks Archnomad P.S. I know this is off topic, but what are the pre heresy night lord colours, ive never seen em? |
